We had Guineas that imprinted on Turkeys. They were in the same brooder for a while and became inseparable afterwards. We gave up and had them in with the Turkeys. Was just waaaay easier than trying to catch them every day.
So clearly I don't have a solution to your problem :dunno: , maybe someone else???
Thanks! That's hilarious and proof you are crazy about your birds. I'm glad you just let them be themselves.i just want them to be happy and healthy, too.

If Guineas hatch babies outside , even if by some miracle a predator doesn't get them all, the keets will get wet in morning dew, chill and die very quickly. So even if, by some miracle (I swear they call the foxes to them) there is a pocket of adult feral guineas, our climate doesn't allow young to live long enough to reproduce.

SO after Berts poultry losses I noticed a set of prints in the turkey paddock. Live trap set, racoon caught first night, racoon relocated to meet his ancestors. Will put the trap out few more nights.

Didn’t really know where to put this but it reminded me of many of you on here.

Spending lots of quality time with DH. Baling and mowing hay Thursday and Friday. Tagged and tail dockling lambs, castrating and nose ringing piglets today. We love our homesteading life together. I hope you all have a great day. I'm off to the garden.

Update on the housing foolishness. The ducks did decide to sleep in the duck house tonight! Yay! And after I put two chicks in the big coop, the other three ran up the ramp to join them. So tomorrow I will dismantle the little coop. Phew.
BTW, KB and OC, you might be surprised to know the Wyandottes have been the model adults here so far! They go to bed first, and they are making my egg collection easy by using the same nest box. All is well.

All of my girls are now hiding eggs who knows where. If I' lucky I get 4 eggs a day down from 12.
Well yesterday evening we ended up doctoring up Chunky and Frank. I didn't shut a gate properly and they got into it. I think Frank won and I ended up bathing open Chunkys eye and putting in polysporin. All swollen up again this am but he seems OK. Silly boys and silly me.

;) not surpized at all, I have "test driven" enough breeds to know why I settled on Wyandottes, very sensible ladies. :)
