Sounds like you are mighty busy. Yes this time of year chickens are a tough sell.

I am paraphrasing but it sounded like " I remember this happening last year and the Staff didn't fix it for months!" The chickens are NOT happy but the turkeys are playing in it. Why do turkeys prefer to eat snow rather than drink nice clean water?

Good morning! This is the first significant snowfall seen by all our this year's hatch. Mine included. After shoveling, encouraging, and enticing with food, they would not come out of the coop. I even opened the large back door for a short cut access to the barn. No go.
Even my old BSLs would not all come out. Guess they are not hungry or thirsty enough!

Good morning,
So when I was making plans for a couple of weeks of grace before snow flies, that seems to have been a huge mistake?
There is not going to be a Green Christmas?
2018 Spring was very very late and 2018 Winter is very very early?
I must say that I preferred the theory of "Global warming" much more, then the current theory of "Crazy weather"
Mid November and we are up to our eyeballs in snow and I think the plan for next week was to change oil on the snowblower.
OK, end of complaints, have a good one ! ;)

The young ones finally made it out of their coop. First I had to give them a bunch of snow for them to find out they can eat it. It only took them about 2 1/2 hrs.

Not to worry OC, we'll get the X-Country skis out. That should ensure no more snow for a good long time. Interesting visitor this am, I though at first a Coopers, then I realised it was way too big but now I think it may have been our visiting Goshawk. Even the turkeys are in a lather now.

Good morning,
KB I don't think the cross country ski trick is going to work this time. ;)
I knew Ross with his awesome snow machine was going to make an appearance,
here is my contribution :-)

How did I run out of time...my lawnmower is still in the garage waiting for an oil, lube and filter and a move to shed...where my snowblower is waiting to come out a play.

Hens said a hard No! To coming out yesterday. Today with the sun...soft no and sticking their heads out. Heated water bowls in place....much prefer mucky snow to clean water..

Sigh!
