Pumpkin beer? Yeah baby!

Post by baronrenfrew » Sat Sep 23, 2017 9:37 pm

So pumpkin season is here and McD's, Tim Hortons, Starbucks all have their Pumpkin Latte's and I don't care for them. My wife loves pumpkin pie (i'm an apple pie guy) but otherwise pumpkin is almost tasteless.

So I buy a selection of beers every time I go through an LCBO including a pumpkin beer or two. They are usually nothing special, but today we hit gold! Big Rig Brewery (Kanata/Ottawa) makes a pumpkin beer: "Tales from the Patch" pumpkin porter, and by golly its amazing! You won't drink more than one at a time, it has a hint of vanilla and spices, but absolutely worth sharing as a "dessert beer" with friends.

And that's what my wife says! She wants a dozen for long term keeping! :beer2: :farmer:

Yeah man!!

Let us know how that long term keeping works. I read somewhere that beer does not keep well past a few month in cool and dark. But then, a few month with beer THAT good??? Not going to happen anyways :yay:

I'm of the camp that pumpkin, appropriately creamed and spiced, makes good pie. Other than that, it makes good pig and chicken food. Anything else is suspect :D

Oh? So what do you prefer? Spotted dick? Toad in the hole? Better pull up your trousers and take the lift to the top floor of the car park and throw that in the boot!
