I don't think we have any local sweet corn ready at all. I haven't even seen tassles on field corn!
Geez selling sweet corn was my first job as a kid. My aunt and uncle grew and sold it. It was a dollar a dozen. And with that statement I'm officially feeling old!

Was in Fonthill to visit family. Stopped at Gallagher's market stand. Cob of corn was .75. I was stunned. Here in Haldimand it runs around .65 / cob.

$8 a dozen, Sarah's farm market Chatham, they are growers and retailers. I was thinking of buying a pickup load and going to farmers market with it, she quoted me $4 a dozen for 130 dozen. I decided not to.

Corn isn't even close to ready locally here, though the early varieties should be starting soon. It's been so overcast and dismal for so long that corn is almost a month behind...and I don't need corn badly enough to check out the trucked-in crap at Walmart...and I will NEVER need corn bad enough to pay $8/dozen!

Wow, crazy. Zehrs Super Store in Simcoe had it for .25 / cob if you bought 12. I think they were .40 if bought individually. The sign said local corn. We've had corn at the stands for a good 2 weeks plus here.

$1.97 a dozen for Ontario grown in the grocery store makes supporting the local farmstand at $6 to $8 a dozen pretty hard to do. Asparagrass is the same $2.99 from the farm vs. $1.99 in the store. I dont get the logic
