eggtraordinary production!
Today I got three eggs from my Easter egger bantams. Nothing exciting there except I only have TWO hens! They are really good little layers, its one of the reasons I sold the three Ameraucanas who only averaged two eggs a day and ate a heck of a lot more feed, plus they really started being aggressive towards the little ee's . I have all the eggs I need from those two tiny egg machines, the eggs are a nice size however. I thought I forgot to collect the egg from yesterday but it was sitting on the counter where I left it last night. I hatched lots of chicks off them, all colours came out.

Nope! They do sometimes make hidden nests when out but no sign of going broody. It's too late now anyway so I don't want them to. I collect the eggs as soon as I get home not to encourage it. Imagine if I infused some leghorn into them, to make the egg a little bigger but keep the green colour. Their feed conversion must be crazy, the eggs are a nice size but they hardly eat anything.
I have a Wyandott bantam and Buff Brahma bantam that hatched chicks out already, they are off the ee and Ameraucanas.

I think so as well, they and the chicks I hatched off them are much stronger and more clever than the other birds.
