Sick Poultry - General Question

Post by Jonmarcus » Mon Jun 05, 2017 1:15 pm

Hello everyone.
Just wondering if anyone in the Bradford area is having issues with their poultry. I have had a couple chickens pass away and my neighbour the same. It seems like they are very skinny when I check them after death. Is anyone else having issues with their poultry? Is there something going around? Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? Greatly appreciated! Thanks

Tis the season-as the weather warms up in the summer the birds are under stress until their bodies adapt to the temperature. we go through it in the winter too, as the weather cools....weak birds are more susceptible to catching things at this time of year (and in the late fall). if they are skinny they were going downhill for a while, you might check all your birds and see if anyone is light or losing condition and get them segregated so whatever it is won't pass to the other chickens. Also, you may submit your birds for testing to the university of guelph if you really want to know what they died of.
