WAYYYY back in the summer of 2014, I answered an ad for a Silkie rooster.
While there I noticed an older silkie hen & asked JANE if she was for sale.
My pet Americauna "HONEY" was blind in one eye after a flock attack.
Seemed like LOLA would be good company for my older hen.
Jane wasn't interested in selling LOLA but after the HONEY story agreed.
During our conversation, I found out JANE was on Poultry Talk!
A year later HONEY died for no apparent reason.
I put my older Frizzle hen "FIONA" with LOLA since the roo beat the crap outta her.
2 YEARS after adopting LOLA, I asked Jane if she wanted the aging duo.
Jane took both of them to retire in peace & tranquility.
LOLA passed a few months ago & Jane told me FIONA just died - sigh
It was such a sweet end to a couple of old hens....almost gives me hope :rooster7:
Got Fiona as a day old from Performance, & she was a sweetie.
SOOOOO here's to BIG THANX JANE, for the home she gave to FIONA.
BIG thanx to Jane McKellan
