Was in the drug store waiting for a prescription to be filled and while I was there, this woman came in with her kids, well dressed, middle class type of people. First off her kids kinda unleashed themselves upon the store so I took notice. One of her boys about 8, put his hand on one of the shelves and did a snow plow move along the shelf, knocking some Tylenol boxes onto the floor. Kid looks at them and walks away. Mother sees him do it (while she is constantly on the cell phone), looks at the boxes, looks at her kid, looks back at the boxes, then continues with her conversation like nothing happened. What the.......

If my Dad ever saw me do something like that. :rip:

Skinny, no, its not just you...I'm no expert on children but although I am the softie of the two parents in this household, we were parents to our kids, not their friends....MJ is the director of a very large daycare and I have heard it all over the years...it isn't the kids, it's the idiot parents, usually hoping that someone else takes it upon themselves to keep their kid in line in a "nurturing and sensitive caring manner without bruising or undermining their self esteem" while they go merrily about their business...and you're right, i wouldn't be here today if doing something like that had even entered my mind as a kid... :sSig_censored:

No Skinny it's not just you, I see this type of behavior all the time. I work with the general public and I see kids doing things, parents watching and them doing nothing. I think to myself WTH, there is no accountability instilled in children from some parents. I do get the odd clients with children who have lovely manners and are respectful, to those parents I compliment them.

As a child I was never allowed to act like that nor would I let a child of mine act like that. I would give my child 3 chances to put every-thing back. If no compliance I would tidy up.
There would be consequences when we got home.
