Cold/windy / snowing here so sitting in barn practicing my turkey calls with my new Beltsville jake "SAMMY SAM" (named by grandkids) that I got from Al at Sarnia show . Sam's just discovering his gobble gobble so kind a funny sometimes & dozen cockerels running around all crowing as well . Haheee come on spring gettin cabin fever . Luck

Awesome Ross! we heard him gobble for the first time in the truck and we all burst out laughing. I dont think he ever tried before with the other 2 toms around.

I've got the Chantys in my one sunroom and they have calmed down quite a bit since they were first brought home. beautiful birds and hes got one heck of a crow. you wouldnt know by his crow how small he is. its the best crow I've ever heard from any bantam. I'll see if I can post the audio clip I made to turn into an alarm.

Great Al I've found that them & the crosses I have with Hamburg Bantys here are very sociable & yep good crowers . Luck

hahahaha there was a huge bronze at the show who just wouldnt stop strutting to everyone. he must have slept well that night. all that dancing n no action. LOL man all the other breeds of turkeys are sooooo huge compared to the BSW, and thats why I just love them.

Ross your BSW will likely be a good pal! They are so friendly.

Ross, within a couple months, you're not going to want to sit down with your legs stretched out, unless you don't mind Sammy Sam trying to sire poults with your feet. The BSWs live to breed, and they're not particular! The girls will sit on rocks, and last night I had to pull Justin off a Muscovy duck, whereupon he strutted for me for over an hour before I left the barn. Turkeys are just too much fun! If you can get SS to strut for you, he'll follow you anywhere!
