Back when i hatched Gimpy and thought he ( yes 'he') wouldn't make it I put out the call for some chicks... A gal near Richmond offered three chicks which she had hatched in a batch of duck eggs she had gotten from a friend...she didn't want chickens so i picked them up from her...Otis of course managed to do one in so I have two of them still...to my eye they are some sort of leghorn mix..mostly white, lean built and flighty but fine looking birds and I lucked into three (now two) pullets...of course they weren't ready to lay when the RIRs and BSLs started a month and a half ago or so and I was starting to think wth?...anyway, yesterday...TAH DAH!!!

Whoo hoo! Do you have any pictures of the ex-freeloading pullets? We haven't had a good game of 'what am I' on here yet I don't think!

OC...yup...tethered cuz these two fly quite well and are as skittish as the cochin rooster I have..gone in a heartbeat, so I tether them, let them settle down so my hands are free to take a photo...as it was i still had to calm her with my hand close by

Why didn't I think of that, as a photo shoot technique for the on line poultry show ?
