Almost a month!! I was always taught that if you can do it for 4 weeks its a great milestone to making something a new habit. Now the new habit is not smoking!!!!
Keep it up!!!

Thank you! Yes the habit of heading outside every hour or so through the day was almost as hard to break as the actual nicotine...Which I think the prescription is masking anyways. When I filled the most recent prescription the pharmacist asked how I was feeling and I said I still catch myself thinking about having a quick cigarette between finishing this and starting that. She looked at me dumbfounded and said "you shouldn't be having any cravings by this point". I asked her if she's ever smoked and pointed out that there's a reason for the prescription to be 12 weeks long. Starting to think of yourself as a non-smoker after 30 years is hard and can't be described to anyone who hasn't been there. It becomes who you are and your life accommodates your habit. I walked past my first smoker today in a parking lot. It smelled disgusting to me and Im ecstatic it did!

GOOD GOING on breaking the smoking habit!!!! EXCELLANT progress!!!!

I have noticed the same thing....a non-smoker can't possibly understand a habit of many years.
Even if the nicotine is not the issue anymorre, it's a multifacited routine.

I was lucky to be skinny for the first few decades, could never understand "diets"
Once I fell in LOVE with chocolate ( & Pasta, ice cream etc.), well then my eyes were open.
Have spent many more decades fighting the fight of too many calories.

Didn't drink until "after" I was 50, thought it was stupid & waste of time.
Now into my 60's, I have found pleasures in the drink.

Great for R & R, goes well with pasta & is a good pain reliever.
Wasted my youth on cigerettes & chocolate when I could have been drinking!!!!

Well I'm officially 8 weeks smoke free.
3 more weeks on Champix. Cannot wait to be done that. My experience with this prescription has been a love/hate relationship to say the least. I guess for me the cure was almost as bad as the disease. I'm not a good pill taker at the best of times and I hate putting something in my body that has the control over me that this one did and the only thing that made it ok was that it was a process to kick the ultimate controller...Nicotine. I'm feeling successful. But I've also seen far too may people go back to the habit months later so I'm cautious.
I'm still dreaming/waking non-stop every night but mostly dream about chickens/chicks/eggs.... It sounds harmless but it's driving me nuts lol
Ive had one normal sleep in 2 months and that was this past Friday because I cleaned the entire coop out (even shop vacced everything from 6' down!) Scrubbed their windows, replaced bedding. The whole shebang. I'd put myself out for hire if anyone was closer lol. TBH I believe I get more satisfaction from cleaning the coop than I do my house!
