Well son of a gun....finally!!!

The oldest of the new pullets started...and look at the colour...she's the surviving pullet of the EE over Black Orpington chicks..I had six...four were cockerels and the other pullet made a miscue and Otis got to her before I did.....anyway...

I thought it was going to be a grandchild announcement, but a very pretty olive egg will do nicely too ;)

Haha..OC..nope..no grand babies anytime soon...i'm thinking i'll be on the wrong side of the sod by the time that happens...

Happy, yes...i love the colour...quite rich...none of the pullets are laying large yet...all medium sized eggs thus far...and i have two leghorn cross pullets that are taking their sweet time too...hearty appetites, those two...freeloaders...lol

I know the feeling...have almost 8 month olds still not laying yet but they sure enjoy their food and treats!

Most of mine are freeloaders at the moment, but they are providing extra heat in the coop at night, so that is a plus for me.

That's funny, same colour as the pullet of mine that started up a couple of days ago! Aren't they pretty.

Ha! Ha! It's funny how we get excited about our first pullet eggs. Nice colour on that one!
