Yup, steel roofing and wood left in the barn was used for the coops and perimeter barrier.
Some of your descriptions remind me of a house we viewed during our search. I swear the people living there must have been on drugs. There was trash (large and small) all around the outside of the house; there was, however, room in the driveway for a vehicle. The inside of the house was an accident waiting to happen - a triangular set of stairs (vertex inward); an unfinished catwalk on the second floor, going over the living room that had a cathedral ceiling; and other changes of floors levels that seemed to have been put in on a whim.
Yup, no more complaints here.... just worried about my hens.
