Baron rides again
So another trip from Ottawa to London and back is in the works with a side trip to Niagara on the Lake.
Assuming weather is reasonable we'll leave Richmond (Ottawa) Sunday Nov 27 noonish. By highway 416 to the 401 (or Hwy 15 by Smiths Falls to Kingston) down the 401 to London.
Tuesday Nov 29 will be a tour from London to Niagara-on-the-Lake (to see the orchards of Ernie Grimo (also buying fresh nuts: heartnuts and more) and Charles Rhora then back to London. (And/or Stratford to get birds from Kenya)
The plan is to head back to Renfrew on Wednesday. Hwy 401 to Belleville Then north to Tweed and Kaladar and hwy 41 to Renfrew. This could be modified to include Peterborough; or 401 to Kingston and North by Smiths Falls hwy 15 to Carleton Place then Arnprior; or to Perth hwy 511 to Calabogie to Burnstown. I will be bringing chickens for myself on the way back (Carla doesn't know yet....Happy 20th Anniversary honey..I got you Buckeyes and cornish bantams) so birds on the trip may work for you.
Kathy lives near London so it may work to bring her something.
Dry goods, eggs, and small (or mid-size) items can be moved without hassle. Birds...maybe.
PM me know if you want something moved.

so the trip is happening (but not on schedule of course). nasty weather last sunday I hit a guardrail driving on perfect ice (at 40km/h!). we were on a tight onramp so I had nowhere to go and couldn't straighten out. then we got snowed in on Monday and cleared the driveway on Tuesday. carla had a day off and we both could work from home so we hunkered down until the Wed morn. damage was only one fender so I didn't think much of it and the alignment was out to lunch. $115 for a bent tie rod and another $80 for a wheel alignment but body damage estimated at $1800! fender $150 front bumper (two broken plastic clips) and headlight (for a scratch) and paint blending to the faded blue of the Hyundai! all the local shops tied up with tire changes and whatever so I'll get the car back this aft. hitting the road tomorrow morn. Carla won't even be going as it'll only be one night in London. we're not taking the VW Golf as 7 hours with three boxes of chickens is too much so we need the car with the trunk. there'll be enough squacking in the back with my sister there.
last call for stuff moved around.

From Renfrew (namesake Scotland) through the Icelandic settlements around Norland to Hanover (namesake Germany) to Fergus (a hotel in Spain) to Stratford to London. Then back by Tweed and Perth (passing Poland) and through Hopetown (aptly named) back to Renfrew. All in two days! No wonder I'm tired.

And I picked up some marvelous Rhode Island Red bantams, some Buckeyes, two bobwhite quail hens, and a small flock of heavy cornish bantams.
And the whole trip without my red suit and white beard (I ride the firetruck on Saturday). Sheesh I really do need elves for the work I need to do!

Just sorry it was freezing rain that day, not something I would want to be driving in.
