At the bottom of the screen it says "who is browsing" then it will say our username or guest but it will also say google bot or some other bot, sounds a little spooky, what is that?

the google n other bots are seaching our forum and making our site searchable from google, ect. we can pic n choose which bots we allow, I seen one that said MJ12, and threw me through a loop. you can look up what they are to see if they are malicious n what not in order to not allow them ect.

at least thats how I understand it. Poultry Admin will know a lot more about it.

they are good because they bring more members to join the forum.

see right now Bing is putting this thread into there searchable database.

LOL. they are computer programs that run around the www and basically catalogue the site by keywords etc so that we show up in a search. When you go to www.google.ca or yahoo and search for something their search results depend completely on what sites the bots (google has a google bot, yahoo is yahoo bot, bing is bing bot) have found and indexed.

yep there are some bad apples out there, which we bar from access....they're basically a virtual cataloguing system for the search engines.
