I'm going to say I "think" both are roosters. At only 8 weeks I would put money down on the rose comb being a rooster for sure. My Wyandott pullets at four and a half months don't have that much red in their combs. The other I am pretty confident is a rooster as well but don't eat it or something because of me, it's a little less clear in the picture for me.

I think they both confirmed they are roosters
Let them out yesterday and both of the little buggers thought they would take on my largest hen. Didn't last long though. One peck from her and they were hiding lol

does it look like they are growing hackles? thats about the only way I know how to tell at a young age. when I look at the pics i think I see them on both birds.

sounds like something a boy would do.....take on something much bigger and more experienced LOL. i have a tiny little 4 week old definitely boy rhodebar, and he sparred with my fully grown cornish rooster....what few feathers (he is mostly fluff still) he has he poofed out, and did the head down thing and wings (what little wings he has) out....the cornish rooster put his hackles out and pretty much laughed it looked like. this little munchkin thing didn't even reach his knee height! if those are 2 from me, email me....we'll see what we can do....because you were looking for coloured layers, and i don't think they'll be laying much. they might help MAKE more layers...but.... they both looks like barred rock dad over ee...they don't really have the colour/pattern i would expect (usually they get reddish leakage on the shoulders as boys) but anything is possible with chickens.
