Fowl Facts are here!!

Hello all!
I started to set up the Fowl Facts on the forum. Have a look at the bottom of the PTO Index page to see them there.

What are we doing there you might ask?
we are collecting cool info and good to know stuff from the forum and other websites in this one location; undisturbed by discussion.
I have moved the 'stickied' topics from the health section there already. Others like the behaviour will follow.
There will also be a breed info topic thread. And you see the 'Incubating and Hatching' category already. Over time we will go through and combine the information from the discussion in one post for easy access. We will also add some structure when the list becomes too long.

For the moderator's sake, I have locked all of that area to prohibit public posting. If you would like to discuss it, please do so in the health, behaviour, breed specific or other respective topics. The Fowl Facts are meant to be a tool to have the relevant information at the fingertips with few clicks. Discussion can and should happen in the other forums.

How can you participate? And please do!
Well, we need information we can collect. Instructions on procedures, publications you find, cool information on other webpages, ... and the list goes on. Anything you share here will be reviewed by our moderators at one time and after a 'stickied' period, we will move it to the Fowl Facts.

This is clearly not an overnight thing, keep watching it grow!

This sounds awesome!! Will be very resourceful for people like moi!

And the main topic is chickens? Or can it be anything to do with homesteading?
Bees?
Gardens?
Ducks?
Dogs?
Cats?
Incubation?

I have a few charts I keep meaning to post for silkies. Where would we put these items?

I thought that there will be a:
Breeds : Chicken
Breeds : Waterfowl
Breeds : ?????
whatever we need. If we need to separate the bantam from silkies from standard, we can do at a later time.
And there be a single post inside of these with a breed each. So one post for RIR, one for Rhodebar, one for Black Tailed Buff Marans.
I'll put one up for dark conish soon. I had that one started in the old system already.

Certainly, whatever we need/want to move over, we do. Bees, Gardens included.

My thought for the process is to make it a sticky in the actual forum for a while. This allows for discussion about it. When there are too many stickies, we move the older ones to FowlFacts. At that point there likely won't be a need for discussion anymore.

But as always, I am open to any other ideas how to organize the info.
