Good afternoon,
Finally checked and banded first 6 of this years pullets, pretty happy with them, considering they haven't been handled much, mostly kept asking...whaaat? and what's thaaaat? and what is going to happen now????
At the same time tried to pose them for a possible future photo shoot and wouldn't you know it 30degree tail as perfect as you ever see, which will of course never happen again once the camera comes out ;)
Another load of straw in, in preparation for things to come.
Have a sunny one :)

Good evening,

Made a short Chicken Road Trip today after work picked up a trio of 2 year old Cuckoo Malines, the rooster is huge, will post pictures later. Also picked up 2 cockerels for a few breeding projects I will be playing with in 2018. Both cockerels are ayam cemani and 100% brothers, the one is very nice black and the other bird is.... interesting....

Have a great trip jim!!!

Yesterday 2 big walnut trees hit the ground here thanks to 3 awesome strong guys - my hubby and 2 of the guys that we give hunting access to. They dropped them and then the fun of cutting up the smaller branches...big stuff is intact for milling. Its good looking wood. Lots of work. Thankfully the guys cut fast enough i didnt have time to get off the tractor so spared a lot of the lifting. Its all cleaned up now...rounds are ready for splitting and trunks ready for milling. Just have to figure out the milling part.

4 loaves of bread made too. The house smells amazing. And 2 hours of physio done per day. Been a busy weekend so far lol. Had to extend the wire up in the turkey pens to the roof because 2 of the jennies decided to roost on top of the fencing. Doorknobs. Did that yesterday too.

So now that the sun is shining i think i might attempt a nice long walk....down the road a bit. Or maybe i will sit in the sun in front of the fireplace and bake....mmmm
The baking seems easier. Lol
Have a wonderful weekend.

Another sunny day. I got all the hoof stock dewormed and hoof trimmed yesterday. The farrier did the horses. I hope to get all the birds done today and tomorrow and hopefully trim all the rabbits toe nails before the week is done. Still need to move a few pens and such before everything freeze solid, but all and all I am kinda ready which is very unusual for me. I hope you all get a chance to enjoy some sunshine today.

Feeling a bit chilly this morning but apparently the rest of the week will be "balmy".
Think I'll wait it out and spend the day inside

Good morning  have a good one

@JimW , your "interesting" cockerel and Jan the cockerel could be brothers, don't you think? Well, except for the eye colour ... and the comb ... and the leg colour ... and the skin colour ... :-)
