Well, I guess this was predictable! Still doesn't mean the chicken got to enjoy free ranging to develop those coloured yolks!

Personally I don't care what they put in , even a little of the " medicine" is ok , long as it's labeled & I have a choice . Luck

as long as that choice includes unadulterated food i'm good with anything, but yes, i need to have the choice. i don't want to buy pink salmon and find out it's farmed, without knowing it was farmed and fed this stuff because it's not on the label.
designer food. just wait until the customer finds out that the "packaging" of the foods (ie, hen feather colour) is different too! i can see it now...."did you know that all chickens aren't white?! that brown chickens lay eggs too??!" ;-P

I can't believe they go to all this trouble. I'm with you guys, as long as it's labeled.
I have a lot of egg customers that are amazed that our hens aren't white. They are a rainbow of colours, just like their eggs.
I have one lady that only wants medium brown eggs. She says the other colours make her feel ill, like the egg is bad.
Some people are so conditioned to accept what food corporations convince them of.

I will never forget a comment our local COOP employee, mother of our son's classmate made when she heard we have chickens.
Oh I love eggs, but I don't like the really yellow egg yolks, I like the pale yellow ones.
This from a woman who grew up on the farm, and is a dairy farmers wife.
Had to tell her that we didn't have the pale yellow ones.
I can only assume this goes back to the times when "store bought" meant you had money and home grown meant you were poor?

OC...I think in many places that thought process still holds true...that factory made is better, that custom artisan stuff isn't and should be cheap...goes with food too...its not a fight I choose to participate in...i am naturally cynical, and have a very high trust threshold especially where corporations and government are involved...just kinda glad that you folks exist out there

Hmmm, just cut up a small watermelon I'm sure was crossed with a red beet it was so red....maybe a bit of extra dye added to the water before it out shipped?! I'm sure if it was, they have a colour wheel for that too!

Don't know about dyes, but if it was seedless, the grandmother plant had colchicine injected into it to damage chromosomes :/
