...response needed...i cant mange to get the humidity up past 50% and im in pseudo lockdown and have chicks emerging...help

I have rolled up hot wet paper towels and smushed them through the larger vent holes in the top of my incubator, not much help sorry.

Do you have a humidifier by any chance? Or a a stove top kettle that that you can put on a bbq or coleman stove near where your incubator is?

Also used a wet paper towel just like Wapoos, but don't panic, as the chicks hatch they raise the humidity by drying off , I often start at 50-55% and it will go up to 60-65% once the chicks start hatching, all is probably just fine, it's the new father jitters

You guys with your home built just amaze me, I spent years looking at plans, thinking it can't be that difficult I should try it, ( this is before you tube) and in the end just wimped out and bought one.

50% humidity is fine

I agree, they'll be fine. If you have to open it for any reason before the hatch is done, hang wet laundry up in the room, first.
