Wow, that just blows my mind a bit, after watching the 'Fake food" on TVO, I thought I have seen it all, it seems to be more and more difficult to buy food without wondering what kind of c..p is actually in there.

All the more reason to raise your own heritage birds and eat them.

I wonder why the loop hole exists in the first place... dog food? glad we dont buy any processed chicken, oh wait... lunch meat n hot dogs so I guess we do... hmmmm yuk! I wonder if anyone can figure out where this "meat" is actually going?

I, for one, have no problem with eating spent hens: but they're my own Spent hens are what goes into canned soups and stews...otherwise the process would turn the chicken into unpalatable mush. Actually, factory raised broilers are mostly unpalatable mush anyway. The part I have a problem with, is stealing from the Canadian government... every dollar not paid in tariffs is a dollar not going towards vital services and a cost we as taxpayers have to eat. Now THAT puts a bad taste in my mouth.

Think i will just keep eating my own extras. At least i know what they are, who they are, where there were, what they have (or havent) eaten and how they were processed!!

I heard about this before, odd how if it's a loophole hurting farmers or consumers everyone just stands around with their finger in their ear, if it was affecting a politician or a corporation it would be dealt with by night fall.
