Hi
I'm curious what people are charging for 1 dozen eggs. We are charging $5/ for large and jumbo eggs from our pastured chickens. We are in Halton region.
Considering the work keeping them and cost of fencing the pasture I'd like to raise the price but my wife doesn't think we should. I know we'll lose some customers but we always sell out so I'm not worried about that.

I'm assuming you're talking about eating eggs? If so, $4/dozen or $8 for a flat and I've always got a wait list.

Thanks for all of your replies. It seems most people have a wait. If we put the sign up we sell out quickly. We're lucky to have a high population around us.
I'm told by a supplier that a guy in Markham was getting $8/ 2 years ago. I guess it's just supply and demand. To me the most comparable description to our eggs in the grocery store are $6.50 or 7. I know some will disagree with me but I think they should be more at the farm. They really are fresh and the customer can see the environment the birds live in. That has to be worth something.

I agree. I can only get $3 locally but that's just a few to neighbours. I think Brian may be in your area. He'd have a better idea.

$3.00 for eating eggs here. I have different breeds that lay different size eggs, I mix them in so there maybe L, XL,M or S in that dozen. If I was grading them and having all L or XL eggs in that dozen I would be charging $4.00 or more.
