I have the perfect place for my garden. The one I always used right by the house, has NO rocks... but because of the trees and the shed we put up... it only gets MAYBE 6 hours of sun.
So, I moved up nearer to the mother in laws house, up our lane. OMG. NO one can tell me, but I think when they dug the foundation for that house, they dumped all the dirt right where I garden. The rocks, big and small are unbelieveable. I dug 2 doozies out up there, and they are damned still there. I have asked my husband to help me get the thing into the tractor bucket, but so far, after 3 years, its still there. I have NO idea how I even dug that thing out, lol.
I feel your pain. Alot.

The only place we have rocks bigger than coblestones is 21/2- 3' down, and only where I want to put in a fence post or deck footing. Everyplace else is rock free.

Oh you people with top soil, try gardening on Canadian Shield, if I go showel deep I hit bedrock, actually wore a tip off of several shovels gardening here.
Annoyingly enough 1/2 mile down the road a "bloody Sand pit" I feel resentful every time I drive by, had to bring in a truck full for sandbox when kids were small.
Can't even count the number of truckloads we have put in over the years.
