Thanks for the heads-up. Glad I had planned for the chickens staying in their enclosure for the next 3-4 days.Killerbunny wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 9:10 amYup here too. Northern Harriers and Coopers especially.

No aerial predators here, just a fox still around that killed a spare cockerel I had that escaped when I was moving birds the other day. He was destined for the crockpot but I guess the local wildlife needed a meal more than me.
I have my angiogram appointment tomorrow morning so hopefully my heart issues will get fixed up.
Good night all.

Re: Good Morning!
Heck of a wind and rainstorm early evening yesterday but no damage.
The pullets looked a bit confused last night on going to coop a little BR kept standing at the pen gate looking for their rooster who went to a new home with 3 of their sisters yesterday. This morning they are up & at it saying they don't need a boy telling them what to do! Next stage is to introduce them to the main flock and Frank.
Anyway with the OPB show nearing one of the adult jennies is refusing to grow her tail properly, another hasn't moulted yet. The youngsters have all started into their adult moult so the coop looks like a pillow fight. 3 weeks birds, only 3 weeks to shape up LOL!

Re: Good Morning!
Good morning,
Bit of a downpour yesterday morning, then yesterday afternoon black cloud one loud thunder and that was it.
A bit preoccupied here by a recurring battle with neighbors who built their $ 700 000 dream home in the wetland and now they would like somebody to make it "not a wetland" Mississippi conservation Authority stopped them from putting more fill in to the wetland (those in Ottawa area may be familiar with the story in the paper) and now they would like us to pull logs out of our wetland or alternately, since we are so old, they would be willing to do the work for us !!!!!
Complete lack of understanding how this wetland works, there is no flow, the water level simply rises and falls depending on precipitation.
So apparently I have been pushed as far as I will go, and shameless enough to use the Blanding's turtle, I have gone to work, and have been bombarding anybody who will listen with pictures of "MY " turtles, because frankly, what would the turtles sit on if we got rid of the logs ?
So here is one for the turtles !!!!!!

Re: Good Morning!
Well there is a precedent for using the Blandings turtles to stop encroachment into wetlands and the like, they were the reason one Wind farm was stopped here in Prince Edward County. Hope the turtles win in this case!
