Re: Good Morning - 2023
we can certainly keep the forum as is....its honestly virtually no work
i hope your girls figure out going in soon! mine are enjoying being let out with our spring like weather! i received a surprise gift in the mail yesterday! my stepmom sent me an automatic chicken door! that is going to be installed on the duck coop post haste lol. unfortunately the little pop door there already is not a suitable spot for it but i can always cut another door!!!!

I'm not sure what type to buy. I'm worried I'll buy one and it won't work well. Do they work well in the winter? Will a predator somehow get in?WLLady wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 12:34 pmwe can certainly keep the forum as is....its honestly virtually no work

@WLLady I'd be curious to see if it works too. When we head out for swimming in summer we have to leave them out and then round up when we get home.

Re: Good Morning - 2023
i think thi s one is called chicken guard...its on amazon.ca it has a box with electronics that is aupposed to go above the door and i am a little hesitant because we get a lot of bad weather so i think i am going to tape the box with electrical tape as extra insurance against water. it has a light sensor so it does need to be outside of the coop. the rails seem easy enough to install....will let you know when i get it done!!

Re: Good Morning - 2023
okay....not too bad to install. BUT i would guess that they check the motor without tension on the lifter because in mine the string was crossed so up was down and down was up and the wiring was all hooked up correctly. once i figured that the string was doubled over inside and thus going the wrong way it set up easily (after an hour of teoubleshooting). we shall see. i am not sure that muscovies will fit through it....hm. they need to stay in another 3 or 4 days anyways....

I looked on Google Maps and this looks like a residential home. Might be better off buying from a bricks and mortar store or Amazon.

thats the one...super easy to install. it does have a little gap between the door and the wall....but its very small and i am just going to put a piece of floor sweep in it. mine was a gift sent to me so not looking a gift horse in the mouth lol. a bit pricey for my budget but then again...a gift. we are supposed to get real crap weather tomorrow so we shall see
