shes never caught a squirrel but was pretty good at chasing them out of the garden at the old place and treeing them for me. I love how she knows the difference in the animals by command. shes a good dog! I just wish she wouldnt jump on ppl and think she can get away with it because its not me...

By George she's gonna be cold... Cold enough to freeze the balls on a brass monkey! (brass monkey: in the time of wooden war ships cannonballs were held on a brass square known as a brass monkey. The cold and salty sea air would freeze them together. This I had heard and retold countless times: so I just looked it up; wikipedia says I am wrong on many facts. Such as how cannonballs were stored etc. so: do I continue to tell this falsehood? Of course as it makes a great story! I'll pretend I'm a politician: because I say it... its true!)

A hole has been found in the nudist camp wall. The police are looking into it.

Just finished processing my 4 male chukar partridge, taking a break while they chill in ice water. I plucked the first 2 and skinned the last 2, got lazy and it was getting cold in the garage.

Downright nasty here. Friends flew into toronto tonight-told them to stay put until tomorrow. Blowing snow-barn keeps disappearing! Hopefully the critters will all be ok tonight....dogs and cats all in. Horses are freaking-cant keep them in or they will kill themselves...lots of places they can get out of the wind. Warm water will go out in the early morning to all the chickens. Till then i think i am going to curl up in front of the fire. Stay warm and safe everyone.

Almost morning, ;)
Went in to the barn on a sunny aft. half an hour later came out to a complete whiteout.
What a country, finally feels like winter, noticed it's 1C in Whitehorse.
First time this winter will leave the pop doors closed in the coop, no point taking risks, just in case the raccoons and squirrels want to come in to warm up.
Keep warm !
