That's a sound I miss! They disappeared from here 20 years ago. (Got lots of other frogs though)

WOW. that's gorgeous! sunrise this morning here was spectacular too. I am hoping the weather will break as promised today though....i'm ready for fall temperatures. plus i have a road trip with birds coming up and don't want them sitting in the back of a black truck at 30C in the blazing sun!

Re: Good Morning!
Morning all! don't forget to vote for the picture of the month!!!!! Voting - Picture of the month October 2017
such a beautiful COOL morning!!!!! i feel like i can breath again! all the boys were up and out of their coop super early (like in the dark....dummies!) because i forgot to close the door. oops.
my one cat has gone walkabouts again. haven't seen her for 3 days now. hoping she hitched a ride back to hamilton with @Bayvistafarm. hate when she doesn't come home for days. i went out looking for her last night along the ravine where she usually heads to and came up with nothing.....oh well.
loving this cooler weather today though! soooo nice!

It caused some robins to sing around here, this cold weather stopped that quick however.

Re: Good Morning!
Good afternoon everyone.
2.5 hours and the barn is clean-well, the loft pens and everything is swept and the silly horses are back in the field...lol. they like to try to sneak through the barn aisle...but do not fit when the tractor is parked there for the shavings upstairs-we shovel the litter into the bucket....so horses get escorted back to the field every 20 minutes of so....funny....they come right back!! Anyways, i can carry shavings again! Physio must be helping, because i carried ahavings up the stairs to the loft, and i can also flip the bags and cut them open and dump them much more easily now! Yay! I am finished though....wanted to get the turkeys cleaned too but that will wait.
Now i really want ice cream....but alas...none in the house. Hm.
Beautiful weather. Just gorgeous. Loving the sun and cool breeze. Nice that the fans arent running in the barn too. Amazing how much less water the birds go throuh when its decent outside!! Need to move birds around this weekend. Get a layer flock going outside, get to EOs to the loft and the ready to lays split up to breeding pens and the old slacker girls out to the layer coop. Gotta check my rir sop...got tons of birds and want to cross the best girls to my boy. He is respectable but his comb needs work, so....and same for my barred rocks. My silver welbars have promise....i think anyways. But i have a couple with nice lacing instead of barring....pretty girls but i really want barring, so they will join my layers.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Re: Good Morning!
morning all! well, this topic got quiet.....we might start a new one, and then archive this one....it's awfully long. LOL.
Road trip tomorrow (i hope). oshawa and ottawa and then montreal. with stops on the way hopefully JUST to drop off, not to pick up!
looks like it might be yucky and rainy! argh! if so, i cant bear to put turkeys in the back of the truck in the rain, so i may be stinky and smelly with them in the cab. lol.
got a call last night that one of my aunts is very very sick (cancer) and that the doctors can't do any surgery because she is too weak...so palliative care, and we'll see. i never know if that kind of news means "stay around because there will be a funeral imminent" or "go and have your holidays and the funeral will be sometime in the future". so. i'm hoping it's the second, and if not, i'll take what i need for a funeral and drive back via the owen sound area and do the funeral on the way back. argh! much needed break from work, and visit my dad (stage 4 and still going!) and my stepmom, and hopefully pick her brain about colours for painting the house. and i am planning on inflicting my last 3 butternut squashes on them as soup....the garden is finally finished. we got hit with frost earlier this week and the tomatoes decided to lay down on the ground and finally give up (thank goodness!). i need to see what happened with the peppers....i think they were pretty done too. had a great crop this year.
hope everyone has a great day. @Dominion Link and @JimW hopefully everyone fits in the cab if it's pouring rain, and i'll see you at some point tomorrow-likely just before noon for dean and 2-3ish for jim....depending on traffic. still planning on just coming by your places...the "drop and run" lol.
i am looking forward to a road trip.....and vacation!

Re: Good Morning!
Attempting to keep my seriously "gifted" turkeys alive for the show and in some sort of feather. The feathers on 2/3 ol females I have in mind are coming in much more slowly than normal ? weather. One young male, fortunately a cull for Xmas, has twisted his leg and although he's over it, it looks odd. No pain or heat though so I'll let him grow a bit more. All the youngsters think it's time to moult into their adult garb - oh well, I'll take them anyway for opinions on form!

Re: Good Morning!
Safe trip, WLLady and Martin!
I hope your aunt will get stronger so that something can be done to help her beat her cancer.
Good to hear that your Dad is still carrying on, hopefully with a good quality of life.

Re: Good Morning!
Good morning,
Everyone here is still in serious molt, enough feathers around the barn for a large duvet.
Garden still going, second planting of lettuce is harvested every day, half for me and half for the chickens. OK the chickens get way more.
Apples finally in the cold storage, the chickens get a 1/2 bushel basket of "falls" every day, can't wait to find out what the meat tastes like
Getting ready to pop my long waited for Brome lake duck in to the oven with basmati rice and mushrooms and a glass of lovely red, yum.
Apple strudel for desert,Thanksgiving coming early here :)
Have a good one!
