Lol my old neighbor once caught me in a robe and hubby's size 12 rubber boots half way back to the house. Trust me...don't try to run like that! They were the only boots at the back door and I thought it was an emergency. Anybody else think your chickens plot your untimely death?

Lol: poultry keepers emergency uniform? Mine is a pair of white underwear, rubber boots, and a shotgun, and maybe a headlamp. Carla says I look great like that in the moonlight!

Looking at the batch of 12 I think I have at least 4 pullets, batch of 6 at least 2.
Did the turkey worming with safeguard paste this am. Worried about how to get it into them and in the end it was so easy. I cut up apples and just coated each piece with some and gave it to whichever bird was next! They just wolfed it down. Very odd.

Safeguard liquid is my favorite dewormer due to the easy of administration. I'm getting to old to wrestle horses to deworm them with the individual tubes of paste. Just mix the appropriate doze of the liquid in their feed and they take it no problem. I use this method on all the animals.

I thought pajamas were the standard chicken keepers emergency uniform! I've wrecked a couple pairs of comfy fuzzy p.j.s while wading through various burr patches. And the Night Shift Emergency Uniform was starkers, nothing but boots?

The news just showed a load of "roosters" being transported out of Miami. Their wings were taped down and they were carefully packaged into individual cells for transport. The reporter said that it was so they didn't fight. I'm thinking they were a whole package of Fighting Cocks from the Cuban community????

They are apparently wild in Key West and protected as a tourist attraction. I'd like to believe what I'm reading that volunteers have been rounding up as many as they can and transporting out with volunteers as they evacuate. Maybe I'm just naive lol.
