Lifted all my potatoes yesterday. Not a great yield either here....either too wet or too dry....but everything that started got big, nice sized potatoes. The russets did the best, and the norlands did the worst-only 4-5 per plant on the norlands. The russets had 8-12 per plant and the yukons in between. Will have enough for the winter.....was a little energetic though thinking i could dig all those in one day lol.i am feeling it today!!

Martins daughter heads home later today...long day coming up for her. Been a good visit.

Letting the turkey moms with 2 babies wader around free range today, along with the boys in the growout coop. What a bunch a scaredy cats they are....door is open but nope...scary world!

We need a tie breaker vote off this month.....go to the normal voting topic....its just for a few days, so vote right away!!

Gosh it's chilly here but Sister is dragging her 2 week olds about foraging - no wimpy chicks allowed! Funny how we cosset them but the Mums do best.
Our pots were the same, great Russets but the Yukon Gold were OK but many just rotted. We've ha so much rain here not a surprise.

That's good news, KB - thanks! I need to check TSC's flyer now. I have space on one side of the house for a quarantine coop/run, and I have the temporary housing, but not the run, and no time to make one. This might be just the ticket. :-)

Finally got some rain last night. Here off the shore of Lake Erie, August has been no show on the rain. I really think this area is going to return to the desert it once was. My kids still live up by the home farm in Amaranth and have complained all summer about the wet conditions. We had second cut off and they still hadn't the first. Crazy world.

I put a hose in the kiddie pool to drain it so I let them have it.

Glad you got some rain Epona!!!! . My friend lives in Port Rowan and I go to visit her once a month and am amazed at how dry it has been there all Summer. Here it has been green and lush and there is is like the Sahara.

Well last "official" weekend of Summer where the heck did Summer go??? Have been so busy that I have hardly been on the forum, Mum was up for a 9 week visit this year so two weeks long than usual. Was nice to have here her but some things got behind around here, mostly the chickens. So this weekend is dedicated to cleaning, nail trimming and checking feet and giving all a spray for crawlies........I know FUN eh!! LOL

Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend, enjoy!!
