Momma skunk is probably happy you're looking after her kids and buggered off somewhere else to have fun without them!
Brebis-you may be right! i haven't seen (or smelled) mama skunk, AND the thing eating the cat food was a little stray we call "white socks". he's a grey and black tabby, with white on all 4 paws and the poofiest face....he has the whole ameraucana muffs and beard thing going on-he's super cute, super wild and super smart about traps apparently. so i closed the traps so i wouldn't catch him. he and my oreo cat (she looks like a skunk ironically) are pretty good friends and play and hunt together.....i have no clue where he is from, or if he actually has a home somewhere, but i've seen him over by 76 highway, so i know he gets around. and he has totally resisted any attempts to be anywhere near him....pretty wild.

now to get the guineas back into the garden. i lost a summer squash to a squash borer, so tomorrow (or on the weekend sometime) i'll bury all the bases of the plants. easier than trying to dissect out the darned wormy larva thingys. my yellow beans are in trouble, it looks genetic....the leaves are all weird, and they're going brown and wilting. from inside. darnit! just got the first few beans this week.

next up is a diet for ms. molly. yep. vet was out yesterday for vaccinations etc, and molly has been enjoying too warm a winter for the last 2 winters. and our grass has been exceptional this spring with all the water. ted is in good shape, but molly needs to knock back 200 or so (not bad on a 2200 pound horse honestly). so hay restricted...graze all she wants, but less hay. so temporary fence installed around the hay.....she's a little clingy and pushy this morning. "food????" hm....???? can you open that fence. no....THAT...no THAT fence....pointing with nose.....no THIS fence....HERE!!!! ha ha

looks like there may *may* be some sweet corn ready for the piknik! yay!
hope everyone has a great day!

Maybe your place is a Newt Night Club?

I heard Jim and the reptiles will be playing there tomorrow night! :farmer:
