Raining here as usual, give us some dry days, on the plus side I don't have to water. My hanging baskets I have only watered once this year and look how good they look.

Well we just got back from Ottawa at 1:30 am. What a joke. We arrived downtown near Parliament Hill this morning, meet my sister-in-laws at the hotel room and headed for the security line to get checked to get onto Parliament Hill. After finding the line and walking to the end of it to determine the line was 3 km long, we said forget it. When and got something to eat, then spent some time at the Byward Market and Major's Hill Park, both packed but no lines.

In the afternoon went back to sister-in-laws hotel room then went out to watch the fire works in evening then back home.

It was "fun" being down there but terribly organized, 500 000 people and only 2 security lines to get checked at to get onto Parliament Hill, what a joke.

Well apparently ottawa made the news for possibly the worst organized party of all time. Sorry you couldnt get in jim! I wouldnt have waited in a 3km long line either.
We visited glencoe and took in the fireworks there. Very nice, and surprisingly it wasnt very crowded at all! But a very nice show and perfect weather. We had some thunderstorms about 5pm but they cleared out and it was beautiful!!
Today is bird moving day. Woke up to one of the guineas barking away totally lost....finally got him reunited with his flock....dumb as posts i tell ya. So i am up 3 hours before i wanted to be....but its nice out and i have an incubator full of chicks to move.....
To somewhere lol
Will be posting lots of birds for sale, hope to select my birds for the next year and stuff....
And maybe play in the garden and make another batch of soap.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

So half a bucket of small tart cherries picked and a batch of jam made, rest will be freezer bound! Loads more still to ripen but I'm happy now.

We went to Ottawa for Canada Day too but knew we weren't going to try and get into the secure area near the Parliament buildings and just wandered around downtown and had a nice afternoon. My nephew, his wife and a friend did get through the security check in the morning in about an hour and a half but left later in the afternoon because there was no food there which seems daft of people want to stay the whole time!
Watched the fireworks from a bank on the south side of the canal, had a really nice vistit with my sister and dad and lots of good food so a great weekend!
And all the driving seemed to be during the downpours!

so the other night i woke up at 3am and couldn't figure out why the east light was on in the barn. so hubby turned it off, and then it was on again the next night. turned it off again. friday i noticed it was on again.....hubby turned it off, and yet again on saturday....so yesterday i stalked the barn. well, wouldn't you know it....the horse (the bigger horse) puts his head over the wall of the stall, and rubs his neck on the post....and i guess manages to hit the lightswitch! so. my horse is turning the light on. sneaky bugger. mystery solved. especially given i thought the lightswitch for that light was on the turkey stall side....

was a nice long weekend. looks like there's a lot of people off today too!
did lots this weekend, moving birds and found guinea number 5. was lost and turned around in the asparagus plot....hard when you are 6 inches tall and the grass and weeds and asparagus are a foot tall. finally got it back home with the others. hopefully now they do their job and rid my garden of bugs! (and my lawn).

onwards! new week! hope everyone has a great one!

I have to wonder about OC and her roosters. Chunky the last couple of days, has taken to giving me very gentle nips on the back of my legs prior to making it obvious I have very sexy boots LOL! This only happens when I let them out in the am.
