Good Morning! in 2018

Well I woke up this morning to Sherman crowing in the basement at 6:30am sharp. It was still pitch black. The funny thing is that he clearly knows that's when he usually sees the bathroom light switch on because it's the typical time that we get up to get ready for work. The bantams are downstairs whining to get upstairs right now. They have no idea how lucky they are. Nobody was very happy in the coop this morning but the heater kept it bearable for them. I think Bebe may loose a couple points on her weird comb. My 3 young girls got thrown into the main part of coop in order to close the door and stay warmer. They didn't like it much but it's for the best. Sunny here so hopefully it warms the coop up quickly. I can't fit my winter boots onto my poor purple toe so wearing hubby's boots only makes me more clumsy lol. I've cleared my schedule for Wednesday/Thursday so I can clean the coop and hopefully get some pics taken for the on-line show. I don't think anyone's getting bathed this year unless there's severe y butt!

I moved 8 bantams from the coop to the basement. Got 4 RIR bantam roos I was to process but never got to it. Toes were stiff last night, i thought they were frozen and I'd have to put them down. Along with the cornish bantams, also stiff toes. All of them looking better and full of beans this morn. The rest in the coop doing fine.
Now they will stay in the basement for a week, gain some weight, put them back out on a "warmer" day.

Life is good Ross. Still got the chickens and turkeys. Thinking about building a new coop in spring or maybe revamping the present one.

Well spent yesterday am in emerg at the local hospital. A minor cold turned into a major chest infection overnight Friday after working outside in the cold. I am not supposed to go outside in the cold until this clears up. Totally sucks. Also how do you convince hospital staff that you don't smoke and have NEVER smoked? I was questioned by 4 different Drs and nurses on that! Feeling a bit better now I have some antibiotics.
