Good Morning!

Good morning!
Amazing sunny morning here, made rounds of the apple trees which should be pruned now, if it wasn't for a fact that the snow is too deep to get to them and if I actually made my way to them, the deer would utilize my path and continue pruning the trees in a pretty haphazard way.
Was glad to hear TVO has reconsidered and will continue broadcasting over the air to us poor folks who don't live in TO, with a helpful little nudge from the viewers, donors, and Ontario Gov. to the tune of 1 mil $
Time to get cobwebs out of the barn, love this time of year!!!
Have a sunny one! :)

Hey, I pruned this morning, too. I started at 9 and it was +6 already. 15 now... One tree was a loss this year. Our horse (Ted) liked the pear tree too much and first pruned EVERYTHING and then used it as a scratching post. So I had to cut the broken trunk right at the base. :cowmuh:

Wow, I haven't been on here much this year. Tons to catch up on. Glad Lizzie is home and wishing her the best.
Our Son, his wife, two boys 2&6 yrs, old, their mastiff, collie, and cat all moved in last weekend so life is crazy but good around here.
My goats are kidding. We had twin boys earlier this morning. Sun is shining and HAPPY FAMILY DAY everyone.

Good morning!
Sounds like a full house goatgal, just heard that one should get 8 hugs a day for stress relief, with 2 grandchildren around, there should be plenty of hugs coming your way :)
Beautiful bright day, snow has melted on the walkway from the house, and I spotted bit of grass showing behind the barn, spring shoudn't be too far behind. :)
Have a sunny one!

Good morning everyone!!
what an absolutely incredible weekend. The weather has been gorgeous.
Once again i am left shaking my head at a news article where 2 people went through the ice fishing this weekend.....its 15c...ice melts fast!!! I just dont get it. Sigh. Unfortunately the one passed away. So sad. The river didnt even freeze over down here.

Walked around the north part of our property yesterday!! Long walk...took over an hour, and i was pretty much done afterwards, but did it! I just couldnt bear to have the day wasted lol. Then finished shelling last years black baking beans. Yesterdays weather got me wanting tomstart garden plants....but i resisted. I might have to getbthe peppers started soon. I hope to have a little vegetable garden this year....still not sure....but feeling like it might possible.

Finally starting to sleep better. Only up a few times at night now. Not every 25 minutes.
The spring moult started in the barn the last couple of days...my one turkey shook and feathers were flying! Yikes!! With this weather i am waiting on the first eggs soon!! Looking forward to getting the first hatches going for the year.

Yesterday was a great day! After chores, Gary and Dave and Jeremy, when he finally showed got the maple syrup 'stove' shimmed up and re insulated. Then after they collected Sap, they cooked hotdogs first, by laying a grill right on top of the fire, lol. Then got it hot, and boiled until the syrup came off. They brought 2 litres in... and I thought WTH? A little thin... but no one was around to tell me otherwise, so I ran it thru a cloth made for syrup, and put it in 4 little maple syrup jugs. Then hours later he told me he wanted to finish it off in the house, lol. It wouldn't have taken long, its plenty sweet, with the right colour, but I guess it was burning on one side of the pan. The side I MENTIONED outside, that looked a little shallow... and that they'd better watch it because it was going to be done soon. He tried to tell me that it was all the same depth, and it had hours to go. Yeh... the ladle grabbed a full load of sap at the back, and barely touched it on the front. Yeh.. same.

I know nothing.

The kids and their kids and their dogs all came out for the afternoon. The dogs all wanted a piece of Gary's hotdog. My back yard, it total mud and dog prints, and skids... because all the dogs are stupid after all being out together originally. Carries dog, Lexi, who spends a lot of time here, as she lives on a postage sized stamp back yard. I finally gave up my comments and basically said.... I am NOT fixing this grass, and I hope it looks like a sandbox this summer. (the hole is still there that Lexi dug last fall, twice. I filled it once. Not touching it again, lol).

Here are a couple of 'friends' pictures (cough/hack/choke).. only Sandy will get that..... of a couple taps on a tree in the lane. I haven't taken any yet. She wants to come back Wed. when we will have more sap to boil. Think I will go shopping that day.

After all that, Jess' brother came/parents... and we got invited for chinese food that we chipped in on... and played Yahtzee while we waited for them to return with it. Then chores, then home.. then bed/book.

It was a fun day! Well, except for the morning, lol. Don't ask Sandy.. she just may put my 'text' on display..... but no worries... it wouldn't be allowed on anyhow, LOL.

BVF sees a job and gets R done, even if its not "done enough".

My wife is like that: I had my nephew over and started putting together a carrot cake. I pulled out ingredients....and they'd disappear whenever Carla went by. "Hey! Where did the baking powder go?"

"Oh I put it away!" Grrrr....

Hey Y'all!!

Hope everyone had a great long weekend.
How is Lizzie doing? How is WLLady doing?

Wendy, that's a full house but I know that you are there when you are needed. Always. You're one amazing woman who has a heart the size of Texas! However, If you need some time away, coffee and butter-tarts you know how to get here! I got you covered!

What a whirlwind of a weekend. Saturday I had to leave my home for the day and evening until the winds calmed. If I don't get out in time I am down for the count. Lou and I drove around the countryside, along lake Erie, Ridgeway, Sherkston, Fort Erie, Port Colbourne, Welland and Fonthill. One thing I learned was I will not find what I have now, turbine free and for what we paid in a market that was NOT overstated. We stopped in Fonthill at a steakhouse and I ate my feelings. On the way home, I cracked. I DO NOT CRACK. I've been pushed to my limit, with a recent trip to my doctor who is sending me for hearing monitoring to document the changes, nerve damage and amount of hearing loss as time goes on. Fucking fuck fucking wind turbines. Anyways, there is one thing Lou can not handle. Me. In tears and defeated. It doesn't happen. Well, now I can't say that. It took me down on Saturday, but I have since recovered and will blame my temporary weakness on pure exhaustion and frustration. Today, I'm back fighting like the feisty woman I only know how to be.

So one thing is a guarantee. I'm out of here. Currently looking for a parcel of land. TURBINE FREE area. Ultimately it look likes East, north of Kingston. Westport, Delta, and all surrounding areas, right to Ottawa valley if need be. I have a lot of research to do to ensure hidden projects won't be going to "that" area. I have a lot of contacts now and I am confident in my relationships with these people. I will build a small home. Hopefully my FINAL stop in life. Josh and Lou are fortunate to not be here during the day and selective when they are. Anyhoooo Lou will stay locally with JT to get him settled in life. Can't believe my Josh is 18 this year.

So if you're up that way and you see a parcel of land, treed and not governed by the conservation authority, I'd love to hear about it.

Houses in my area aren't selling. For sale for months, and over a year and longer. The house down the road just dropped $50,000 to try and sell, but they are so close to the cluster known as the 'Lowbanks 8' that they will have a very hard time. Another house we saw dropped their price yet again, now under $300,000. A house went to the auction. Didn't sell. :rubbingchin: My friend listed her home in Dunnville on Tuesday and had 8 showings that day and offer in hand that night and sold by the next morning. 15 mins down the road is turbine hell and houses can't sell. So the plan is for JT and Lou to stay here and let JT get settled in life, he wants to join the masonry union, but has to wait till he is 24. Then we will go from there. The turbines don't affect them the same as me; Doesn't' mean damage isn't being done, but they don't require a scribe to combat vertigo, nausea, tinnitus and the bullsh*t list goes on. You do what you gotta do. I will continue to fight these mother f'ers. Sound and frequency testing will be done next month, more documentations to take place then I will be unleashed.

So having a plan brings a wave of relief to me. The knowledge of the house not likely selling and being stuck here and living a miserable symptom filled life is not my thing. I am likely the most difficult person to get along with lately and holy irritable batman. I can take your head off for breathing too loud. I moved to the country to be healthy, relax and enjoy life. Its either I take off and get me some land, build and regain my sanity, or move in with BayVista. HAHA!

Family Day: I had 10 people for an early dinner on Monday. BBQ. Always nice to have family around to reconnect and remind ones self what matters. I put the dogs in the kennel while eating dinner, mostly because our home is small but also because I just needed to sit and not worry about the dogs pestering anyone. The dogs went crazy as we were in the coffee/baked goods stage. I went out to see what was the issue. Three coyotes staring at my dogs. I hollered for Josh. Damn. I wanted to take them out, but with company here, city folk and all, kind of off to pull out the shotgun and take them out. So I fired the BB gun and they took off and the dogs came in. Today I was out with the Crossbow, reminding them whose property this is. T'is the season for these yotes to show. I'm going to suggest these were the hybrids. Drake is 95lbs and Ava is 70lbs. These yotes stood taller and much bigger than my dogs. Scraggly looking too. Drake had the typical bark like if he saw a dog or a person. Ava, on the other hand, was fierce! This girl understood a threat. She is out roaming today and I'm sure she is keeping them pushed back. So thrilled with her. But she does spend a lot of time in trouble LOL. Still has the puppy in her, but I have to remember she is only 9 months old.

Anyone else have a teenager that is eager to pre-register to vote? Go Josh!

Well, that's all the time I got! Phew eh? I sure can blabber on when needed.

Oh wait, I know why I was coming on. I'll be in the picnic thread shortly.

Cheers!

Lizzie is home and doing "okay." hard to keep her from doing things... shes busy but i keep making her take breaks and helping with lots of things.

Man we havent had much snow since before xmas and I havent seen a single Robin yet! hmmmmmmmmm it sure feels like spring out but until I see a Robin it isnt spring.

Im trying to figure out the parts and procedures to fix the water pump in her car thats been down since Nov.... 2002 Sebring, Water pump is shot, oh an hours top job on my truck... and a complete engine tear down on her car because its inside the engine drivin off the timing chain! GRRRRRR $1000 plus dollar job at a shop. Im guna do it in the lane way! :-) just need to figure out what kit i need! frustrating beyond belief. changing a water pump in her car isnt just changing the water pump. its also the timing chain, all the gears, 2 more chains, the guides, the hydrolic tensioner and a few more things. basically rebuild half the engine!

anyways theres my rant for the week, have good night all, off to continue trying to figure out what i need!

later!
