So #40 hatched 5 healthy chicks when we moved her to a private coop. She was being hassled by a young girl and one of the eggs got squished. Baby was peeping a wriggling away so I got it out and it may or may not make it depending on if the blood vessels had shrunk enough. One more is just pipped and may get out or not. ANother couple of eggs were behind and had quit. Not sure what is up this year with eggs because they seem to be strung out.
Also no trip to Emerg necessary and no major damage to handlers.
So the little guy made it overnight and the other one hatched fine so she has 7 which is great! @Brebis pictures will be delayed because we are practising safe distancing as the turkey is a touch protective ATM LOL!

SHe brought them out yesterday afternoon and I got some pics. Interesting thing happened though A young female, not quite a year old, was trying to share her nest. Now babies are here she has taken to helping out with the kids and chasing off the other girls. SHe is even encouraging them to feed. #40 seems happy with this arrangement!

Thanks @Killerbunny, made my morning! Interesting about the younger jenny helping out, good survival strategy, maybe they’re not as dumb as we think!

Well, I guess I should know better...I’m going to need some good fencing when I put out my veggie plants.

Another venture outside today, found out Tuesday or Wednesday absolutely best days to go shopping, nobody in the IGA garden center got 7 bags of mulch on sale, Drugstore, got toilet paper on sale, just proves all comes to those who wait ;)
at 9AM I was the only customer at both places accept for a pharmacy counter, where somebody was having a meltdown because the post office was still closed and they wouldn't give her 3 month supply of something, and she went on and on and on, feel sorry for the staff.
Then drove by LCBO at 10 am, again the only customer there picked up some beers for DH so he is going to have an adventure coz I know nothing of beers :)
Time to put on lunch, having scallops with double dose of garlic,my way of fighting whatever I might have picked up out there in the world ;)
