For me it depends on which screen. One looks more mocha the other (colour corrected temperature) they look olive. Not sure if they'll stay this way.

-28 when I left this morning and -16 in the coop with the panel heater on. When I checked the outside and coop temps at 3:00 am, the coop was -13 and the outside temp was -25. Thanks for posting about your panel heaters last winter, KB!

Wow much colder in the east! Not too bad here...-15 when I woke up I think. My most recent molter is looking miserable-naked from wings back. She's one of the mean girls that plucked pin feathers out of her sister so I guess paybacks a *#@+\!

-28 outside, - 15 in the barn, not too shabby once the sun hits the windows it warms up pretty fast.
Bit worried about the molty Wyandottes , but everybody was active and beside the usual greens and apples, they got an extra treat of sunflowers, I swear they knew that was extra treat, they were pretty excited about the "new" ingredient in the breakfast dish, usually they get it mixed with the evening grain.
Keep warm !

Okay. I am happy with -15 !!! You guys can keep that -25 stuff.
Just started snowing here a little while ago. Staying in. Dont need a feed run for at least 2 weeks now. Doing some cleaning...will get to some work this afternoon. Battling getting off drugs for surgery on Monday so basically not getting anything done except drinking tea.
I put together ziplock bags of food for the horses so all my hubby has to do is grab 2 bags and one into each feed bucket and get out of the stall before the ponies get there. Theres 80 bags...so i have yo beback to the barn in 40 days. Lol. And i only saw 1 sparrow in the loft his morning!!! So i shood it out and then watched where it snuck back in and covered it with wire and shood the bird out again. Fingers crossed.....watched with a bit of smugness as it tried to get through again and couldnt....
Hopefully that locks them out. My sick rooster came right back around with a touch of amprol so i hope he is all good now....i will keep him treated until sunday night just in case.
Yeah my moulters are not impressed but why oh why moult right now??!!!
Hope everyone has an awesome friday!!! The snow falling is really pretty right now.

ANother really interesting egg from the little pullet. It's the one laying the "olive" coloured ones. Todays egg was cocoa powder colour with small blueish pieces of shell embedded in it!
