TomK look up the "square". it's really handy, you can use with cell phone, tablet or computer and take debit and credit cards. i know several people with small craft shops (pottery etc) that use the square and love it. the fees are WAY less than credit cards are per transaction. and-the bonus-you don't need anyone with half a brain to run it-i can run it successfully! and if i can do it, anyone can!!!!! I like paypal, but too many scams out there trying to mimic paypal with their emails etc, ticked me off, so i don't paypal any more....but paypal is convenient as well. AND my hubby is working on a store front for a pottery company, it's really quite easy to do with the freeware that is out there, and then you'd just upload photos and prices and viola.....pay through paypal etc, or square in person, and ship and done!

Very beautiful indeed!!...but I was wondering if there is a difference in hardness between black walnut and regular walnut? I am no wood expert at all..lol but my husband is a woodworker / cabinet maker (really anything) he's told me before that walnut is a soft wood. Would that not put deep cut marks in it? ...I've never heard of black walnut is it different?
P.s I really do love the design!

While I am looking into my crazy idea of the pottery thing, I found square the best for "have credit card in hand, want to pay". If you are looking at selling through website, there are many offers from paypal, amazon, and others. The one that got me reading a bit further was from Quickbooks. They have a credit card checkout, but your book keeping is tied right into it. So inventory management, bank account tracking, taxes, supplier orders, ... is taken care off in there.
For DYI webpages there is not much else out there but wordpress. If anyone is looking for web hosting companies, I can certainly help as well.

I remember when I was a kid, I wanted to help with dinner- the pork chops needed flattening (there's probably a proper culinary term for that) so I got out a round wood platter and started whacking away with one of those meat hammer things- turns out the platter was fake, melamine, with a wood grain. Pounded it to death LOL. NOT hardwood............
