On another note there has been a suggestion that "family bubbles" could be allowed. This means that you pick another family to visit with and the 2 families can only visit with each other ATM. Well we thought about that and pretty much came up empty LOL!
Sorry perhaps not that funny, but it gave me and DH a good chuckle, because examining our potential "bubble companions", we came up empty too.
Our son and wife should logically be the #1 candidates, and although they have been very solicitous about offering help, it turns out we don't actually trust them very much. Don't tell them :)

Re: Good Morning!
Looks like our second family bubble thingy will be the folks across the street likely-since their dog likes our dog. and their kids like our horses. and i do think the adults like the adults.....lol. both our families seem to be the only "normal" families on this road too. and both terribly asocial. so we get along great LOL.
I went to let the birds out this morning and was just about wiped out by a pair of black ducks that had settled on our roof for some reason. Maybe my muscovies are not practising proper social distancing?
I lost the guinea nest....she moved. ticked off that i was stealing her eggs (ticked me off they're weren't fertilized!). And she was laying in the duck nest, so the ducks also moved. I put some old marked duds in the duck nest, and now they are laying there again. good ducks. i found the guinea's new nest. In the wood pile. so i swiped the 3 eggs and replaced with 3 duds that didn't do anything in the incubator (they were removed at day 10). marked the duds. so we'll see if this bird actually CAN count....and see if she doesn't notice the duds. of course all three were soaking wet from the rain. oh well. I will know on saturday if the new set were fertilized. I cracked one open yesterday and it looked fertilized....still waiting on the ducks to pip. The eggs are "ticking" so there's something going on in there!
Sally is back to worse today....had to give her a painkiller. sigh. she's sleeping. completely neurotic about the door. but we did have a minor break through! she will slink down the hallway all by herself now, without the leash, and without someone holding her collar. just as long as we are there, she'll do it! one small 4 footed step at a time.

Re: Good Morning!
Honestly the family bubble sounds like a dumb idea. NB was already saying they have families vying for the position and getting upset because grands1 were picked over grands 2 and the kids are annoyed that they aren't. Sounds like a recipe for disaster!
And to everyone on here we didn't pick you because we figured you'd mostly have family you'd prefer to us!

Re: Good Morning!
Good morning,
Ventured out in to the wilds of Stittsville retail yesterday, in Farm Boy got stuck behind a short elderly couple squeezing every bock choy on the shelf, gave me time to contemplate my decision at leisure, perhaps "week of fresh" and "week of frozen" will be replaced by whatever we can grow and hunt.
Then of to Pet Value, desk and cash in the door, picked up tick stuff for the dog, Thank you for the reminder @WLLady
Then drug store curbside pick up, ordered and paid on line. Was back home in time for morning coffee break, so no complains.
Just got an e-mail from William Dam seeds, apparently they are on a truck on it's way to me, so it looks like I will be growing from seeds this year, didn't think I would ever bother again, but the thought of being herded like sheep thru any kind of line up for anything is enough to have another go.
Have a sunny one!

Re: Good Morning!
My second William Dam order is on it's way too. I didn't include some seeds in my first order, because I was planning to buy started plants for things like tomatoes like I've done in the past, but I doubt that there will be much available this year, so ...Ontario Chick wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 9:11 amGood morning,

Last week's Pet Valu and Ren's Pets curbside pickup was a positive experience for me, as well as Bulk Barn, but Costco experience was downright scary. I see on their website that customers will be required to wear face masks in order to shop there as of Monday.

Good morning!
Rain has stopped; eggs are in the incubator; chickens are out free ranging; rhubarb is growing; chamomile has reseeded and is growing; dill and asparagus not visible yet; and in the house, some old calendula seeds are sprouting and one bloodflower - Asclepias curassavica.
So far, so good.
