Will do!! May head out in the next while to grab a few mojo's... They're good to have for some movement in the spread.

hey all,

welcome back Bobbi! that's one kick butt boat you got going there! hopefully you left room for the people, and have a spot where the boys can see out! LOL.

well, not so good news from the vet today...had both the puppies in this weekend for blood work, skeet is getting older but good news is his can stay on the arthritis meds, his liver enzymes didn't change in the last 2 months so thats really good. Poor tango though. he just had surgery a couple months ago to remove a pile of mast cell tumours. and his liver enzymes were elevated a bit at the surgery, they were hoping the surgery would bring them down getting rid of the tumours, but the levels have more than doubled in the last 2 months. so we're looking at another month on a liver drug to get them under control hopefully, testing for T4 and T3 (hypothyroid) and for cushing and addison's disease and doing abdominal ultrasound to see if the tumours are inside too. If they are, well.....sigh. thyroid, cushings are both pretty treatable, but addisons and the tumours aren't, so we shall see. Vet hasn't tested T4 yet, so that's first. I'm hoping i can just schmooze a blood vial and needle from him to draw at home and drop it off, instead of yet another visit....we'll see tonight. Thyroid would make sense given his eating and weight and his fur hasn't really changed, if it were cushings or addisons we'd have noticed hair loss/changes i think-i guess tonight i'll check and see if his surgery scars have hair growing, that's a tell tale sign of hair changes if they haven't grown in yet. He has never paid attention to anyone and attention span of a microsecond, so hoping thyroid....certainly the easiest to treat of the handful it could be.

gah. always something. well, guess as long as he's eating and drinking and chasing the bunnies and everything we'll just keep plugging away on figuring it out. so looks like a month on the new liver sparing drugs to see if we can stabilize levels, and more blood tests, and go from there.

still raining here.....

Good morning,
Those dogs, so much joy and so much trouble, that's why we love them ;)
Got some rain last night, great for the evergreens, they need a really good drink before winter, after our dry summer.
Morning bright and sunny with some large maple tops turning fiery orange already, love this time of year.
Collecting last of the cucumbers this morning, they will keep in cold storage for a bit, the chickens will appreciate them.
Up and at it, have a good one!

morning all!
so, new archery store just opened in delaware! antler river archery. i can't wait to stop in and see what they have! apparently just opened yesterday.
another beautiful morning. sunrise was gorgeous. Have to give this med to my one puppy an hour before breakfast, which means up at 4...so i let him out, and the stars were unbelievable! a tiny sliver of new moon, and crystal clear cool air. then i let him back in, let all the cats out and in as they wanted and went back to bed for another 2 hours. LOL. Hopefully this stuff works, had a look at his values yesterday at the vet and didn't like his potassium levels either, for a muscular GSP type dog his potassium was pretty low.....sigh. other liver values were okay, AP up and ALT WAY up....don't like that....sigh. so. i will keep setting the alarm and getting up early to give him his meds before he eats. In a month we're back for more blood work, and i ordered thyroid tests too. and we'll go from there.

busy grant season here. lots of writing. and looks like i need to prepare the emergency "what to do if "x" happens" while i'm off on medical leave. a couple of the more senior people that will be taking over my job while i'm gone here came in a panic yesterday LOL. lesson 1: unless there's blood or a dead/dying person on the floor it is not really an emergency. 2: if it stinks bad, get people out and turn off the lights and shut the door. 3: NOTHING moves at the speed of light, so do it and forget about it until it ends up back on your desk, IF it ends up back on your desk LOL

looks like my new office should be move in ready later this week! I can't wait! i'm going to start getting things ready to move.....yay! they needed to replace the carpet in there, and that was done yesterday, and desks just went down the hall. :-) yay!

mom turkey that hatched out the chickens that went to a new home yesterday actually looked relieved to be just her and the tom in the pen again. i was worried that she would spend all day trying to find them, but nope....she was absolutely perfectly normal when i got home, and snuggled in with the tom having the nap to end all naps. gave them some treats left over from the garden (a couple of butternut squashes that were going soft) and she went to town on them....all gone in about 30 minutes! This weekend will be cockerel processing weekend, so if anyone wants any starter project birds or easter egger boys check out the sales ads....because they'll be going this weekend.

hope everyone has a great day!
