Thanks Al

It's very very windy here. I am a little concerned about some of these trees with their swaying as I watch from the kitchen.
Had to out the ducklings away. Wind us blowing them like tumbleweed.

Stay safe and have an emergency plan !!

Cheers

My weather radio just went off....severe thunderstorm warning. It feels nasty out...something coming.
Hope colleen and shirley made it home again. I swear next rime you visit i am taping the whole thing and posting it for all to see. People would not believe it lol. So much fun! At least the pile of guineas and 2 turkeys are home now! I think there were all told 65 or 66 that hatched. 2 didnt make it...so 64 or so. Then 2 turkeys. A while cat carrier of wee birds lol. Bvf was literally scooping handfuls of them-6 or 7 per...lol

Waiting on a water delivery...we are putting in a therapy pool. The thing is in and built and the million cardboard boxes are corralled in the barn out of the wind. It would take just too long to fill by hose plus i have no clue if my well is low yet lol. So ordering a truck. Yay!! Sometime today anyways. Was this morning. Now its this afternoon. So hopefully soon!! Then the coping needs installing. And the boards around the front to make it look neater. Getting there. Taken 2 weeks or so to get it together. Giant ikea type build just with better instructions!!

Thank you bvf for the blanket!!! Much appreciated! And will be well used!
Waters here!

Therapy pool? you got a doctors letter for that? hot damn ... stay tuned for WLLady's new guide on how to get a tax deduction/credit for a pool!

or is it "pond building" as a farm expense?

(we pay enough taxes, i'm all in for every good idea for a tax deduction, as long as its airtight)

Good morning,
Had a spectacular light show last night, lightning in North South and West sky for about 2 hours, with 1/2 hour of rain, cool and windy this morning, with dust bunnies gathering in the corners ;)
Plan for this morning, open all windows and doors in the barn and sweep all corners in the hope that the wind will work as well as the giant fan I never got.
Hope everyone is well.

Nope no tax rebate or anything for the pool. Cold hard cash saved up and hopefully spent wisely. I am not good at sitting and doing nothing and since i will need to do basically nothing for a year i may as well do something that is allowed and that is swimming.
Look up endless pool.....lol. i tell ya...2 people with a book and a cd of installation instructions and its taken probably 7 or 8 days..we might finish it today. Coping and the cover to put up. Once thise 2 things are done i think we are pretty ready!!

Man these weather changes are awful. No socks today. Slip on shoes. Not sure about getting into the pool until at least 3 cups of tea lol. Beautifully cool today!!! It can stay like this now!!

Next hatch is hatching as we speak. 1 out. Several pips. Chickens this time. Sure is empty in the brooder with all the guineas off with bvf. Hopefully i can turn off the incubator now when these guys are done. Lol. Donations of willpower gratefully appreciated lol.
Hope everyone has a wondeful day! No storms here last night but some awfully scary looking clouds south of us over the lake!!

That's awesome Kathy! I've heard great things about therapy pools. Even if it helps a little, it is money well spent. You have a long road ahead, but so glad there is a 'fix' in the making.

So much rain yesterday and last night. Soooo much! Spent an hour already this morning picking up fallen branches. Thankfully none hit trucks, just one machine got a few scratches and a trailer got a huge branch, Josh and Lou are hooking up the chains now to move it. Bon fire in near future. Some pretty crazy cracking thunder last night. Good news, Ava could careless about thunder.
With all the rain yesterday I either cleaned the house, worked or cooked. So I did a bit of cleaning and made lasagna from scratch, right down to the pasta. Was a good dinner with a well deserved nap afterwards lol.

Found a home for all my drake ducklings. Out of 6 ducklings I brought home (the terribly weak ones from the auction) a good 4 potentially 5 are drakes. I can pick them out pretty early by the tree stumps for legs and the feet grow so fast on the boys. goatgal35 will be letting her 4H kids raise and show. Love it when a plan comes together like that.

I have 2 almost week old Swedish ducklings - one is definitely a runt with a funky beak. But I said I would take it anyways, it can at least have a go over here instead of being culled. Right now it's swimming in their lake (litter box) splashing and playing. It eats and drinks just fine. We'll see what the future holds.

I'm just watching all the scovies have a bath and fluff and flap their wings and shaking a tail feather. Haha! It's impressive how much control they have over each feather, like spreading their tail feathers.

BVF is going to raise up a few Guineas for me. I don't do well with babies so it's best that they come to me as juveniles.

Off to the fair in a little bit. I'll take pictures of champion row and post when I get home. I'm thinking the fair wasn't busy last night :( with all the rain. Second year in a row it's been dumped on. Hopefully there is a good turn out today.

It's nice and cool! Have a great day :)

Cheers
