good morning all! what a stinky humid morning again. back to the same old i guess. hoping everyone down la salle and windsor way are okay this morning after the tornado last night. we didn't even get a severe storm warning which surprised the heck out of me when the rain started like crazy about 8pm.

setting up my home office now...on reduced hours at work. doctor's orders :-( not sure i like that, but hopefully it will help....so the tedious task of uploading software and setting up the desktop at home starts....fun fun! at least i have a great desk, and chair, and the comforts of home (aka, endless tea availability for almost free LOL). and the ability to lie on the floor when i need to multiple times a day if needed...that's something i refuse to do at work, who knows what has been on the floor in the lab!

don't forget to vote in the picture of the month contest folks! tough choice to make but cast your vote!
alright. better get going. somehow now have to pack 5 days of lab work into 4....of course. work at home is paperwork, so i'm enjoying not doing that right now, but really need the lab time....hm. maybe i'll have to set up the secret lab in my basement.....(insert evil laughter here)
hope everyone has a great day! stay cool!

Good morning,
Muggy and hot again, let half the troops out but youngsters are staying in for the day, hoping that the tiny bit of rain we got last night will spur on the pathetic stuff that should be grass in the chicken runs.
Spent a morning pulling ragweed out of the runs, about 10 days too late, really not fond of the stuff.
Judging by the feathers rolling by this morning, the molt has started so time to put the lights in the barn on a timer, days getting shorter although it still feels like full blown summer here, I guess we are getting the stuff we missed in the spring tucked on in August.
Have a cool one!

In the category of gross. I should have checked the traps before today but in one of them I found the most beautiful orange and black beetles feeding on the remains. Put the rat box trap out yesterday am. Circle of life!

We finally got a GOOD rain! Between last nights, and today's... we have had about 69.3mm!! Yahoo!! I will be pulling some of those hard to budge ragweeds out in the squash patch tomorrow.

I still can't believe we got so much rain!! Won't have to water things for a good two weeks now!

Morning Y'all

Well, we can thank my sister who came from BC almost 2 weeks ago for bringing the rain with her. We sent some hot weather to BC and we got some rain in return. HAHA!

Had a great time with family's the last few days. Ten people for dinner one night. All squeezed into my house lol. Tables set up in living room and part of the hall so we can all sit together. It was great!! Laughs, memories. Need a good dose of that every once in a while. It was first time in over a decade my mom has had all 3 of her children and all her grandchildren at the same time. It was great to make it happen. But I'm done now for a few more years HAHAHA!

However, I am now in recovery. Go to the beach they said, it will be fun. I do not do the sun. We do not get along. I'm currently nursing fist and second degree sunburn. Yes, I wear sun screen. But it doesn't matter. I also have PMLE which isn't fun. I think next summer I'll switch my clock. Live at night and sleep during most of the day, late afternoon and evening hours awake.

Ava loves water!!! Omg. Couldn't keep her out and the waves crashing and drowning her with each roll into shore haha. But she wanted back for more and more. The waves were ocean-like that day. Huge ones over our head. So much fun! I love water and swimming. Just wish the sun wasn't at the beach when I showed up

National topless day is coming. August 28th? Pls check the date before you set the ladies free if that's your thing, I would hate to be responsible for the wrong date and your 'complications'

Well I'm off. Slow start to my morning. I'm pooped!!
