Good Morning!
unreal Sandy! just like the "diabetic watches" that came out in 2003 reading your blood sugar 24/7 by reading your sweat (and had low/high sugar safety alarms): it cost $600 per year to operate. compared to $400 per month for needles and computers and swabs (as in the movie Panic Room) and I still have the Popular Mechanics and Mens journal it was featured in.
don't get me started....
don't get me started....

Good Morning!
warning: rant post
yeah, great. my epipens (i have 2-1 backup for BVF when she comes to visit LOL, 2 for me, 1 goes to work and travels with me and the other is at home closest to the center of the house-peanut and shellfish allergies) cost me 99$ last time. they're out of date because of the shortage a few months ago, i better go and get the new ones. sigh. my script is for the twinjet ones, so hopefully they have a generic or some other brand that they'll give me instead. epi doesn't go bad too fast if it's stored right, so i'm sure the older ones will still work, but..... like i want to spend that money right now...really NOT. and i just heard that the test strips for my mom's type II diabetes will no longer be covered by OHIP or trillium/ontario. AND someone phished her successfully...so now she has ZERO money and guess who's going to be footing the bills for at least the next month??! I'm still trying to figure out if she needs to change her bank accounts and direct deposits etc etc. why are people in this world so willing to prey on others? it really makes me mad....and some doorknob keeps calling me from revenue canada (not really-unless they've all moved to the middle east somewhere) saying i owe 8000$ in taxes and will go to jail if i don't get gift cards...last time they called (30 minutes ago) i told them to throw me in jail and hung up. not in the mood today for stringing them along. i also blocked their long distance from who knows where number. we are all made of money apparently lol....but at least it's only money....they haven't demanded a human sacrifice quite yet, although i'm ready to haul myself out behind the barn some days.
been trying (unsuccessfully) to wean myself off the drugs for my back. not going well. well, okay, its going okkaaayyyyyy.....sort of. if i lie on the floor for an hour at 4pm every day.....LOL. think i'll be calling the dr again today. sneezing is a whole new experience-better to just put myself on the floor and THEN sneeze, save the falling down part. who knew that your lower back was that important? LOL. At least the feeling and use of my left leg is getting better, now my right is having issues...and i shrank another half inch since may. called the surgeon's office, admin's been on holidays....it's been about 3 months, and i'm due to go back for injections, and wondering on surgery date...so. called. and she said "oh, no it won't be for at least a year" WHAT? surgeon wanted me in BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!!! this won't wait that long, do you understand MY SPINE IS COLLAPSING? told her to check the chart-it's right there in black and white...i saw him write it, and i heard him tell the admin in no certain terms what had to be done ASAP. oh, yes, it does say before christmas here, urgent case....guess i should get that booked. YOU THINK??!!!! OMG. so now it will be a frigging miracle if it happens any time soon....I am so losing faith in the system. i want this surgeon to be the one doing the surgery, it's his specialty, but i would like it done before the damage is irreversible....please
So many sick people at work! i am actually carrying hand sanitizer right now....and all but 3 of the folks here have called in sick already! (they sounded AWFUL yesterday). i just hope hope hope i can avoid it....
and we're moving offices and the lab again. so much fun! ha ha. it'll be a miracle if i get any work done this year at all!
alright rant is over.
Al i can't wait to put your RIR girls i hatched from you with my RIR boy and see what i get. They are beautiful! and should be laying any day now!
i left my garden open today so the free rangers can get into it and eat some grasshoppers. there's no lettuce left, and the tomatoes...well, they can eat what they want. i have 8 liters of ketchup on the stove....and marinara sauce already made (yummy too), and i will make a bit of bruschetta on the weekend. but then i'm tomatoed out. totally. LOL. i know, maybe we can use them for target practice! ha ha! we did that with guinea eggs one year....did you know you can throw a guinea egg up in the air, miss it with the shotgun, and it will fall to earth and stay intact to be thrown again? those are tough eggshells! LOL.
hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Good Morning!
epi pens - we would fall into the can not afford category. we have 2 for our youngest daughter. she was allergic to a lot of things, but nothing in particular. she had an asthmatic alergic reaction to something we never figured out. this was a couple years ago before taking gluten out of our diets. she hasnt had another reaction period. so hopefully she dosent need one.
isnt that kinda like the dentist.... teeth are important, we need them to eat, our first line of defense for good health comes from what we eat. teeth should be covered 100%. our kids teeth are perfect, they are covered, ours however are not so good. and then again who knows... I think I remember hearing the healthy smiles program was being scrapped.

Good Morning!
It just all boils down to ... Pharmaceutical and food corporations (like Monsanto) controlling the human race.
It's expensive to be unhealthy or have a medical(s) condition.

Good Morning!
A friend texts me and says Mylan (EpiPen Mfg) has a coupon/pay assistant program. I check it out. Who do you think should qualify? People with NO insurance? Quite the opposite.
