Old Chinese Curse: be careful what you wish for.. because you might get it.

I just keep thinking of a few years ago. We had our house for sale in Thetford Mines Quebec, near Sherbrooke and Vermont. Trouble with the house one March weekend.. So I went on Monday to check on it.. cross the Quebec border.. big black clouds in front of me. I call my sis to check the weather channel (ahh I miss my old flip phone.. charge it twice per week) looks like snow. The plan: cross Montreal then stop for a bite to eat then south to Thetford. snow, more snow, more snow.. get across the Island and onto the south shore heading east... time to eat..this offramp not plowed 2 cars stuck in it.. this offramp not plowed three cars stuck.. plowed ramp heeyah.. gas and St Hubert chicken.. back on road.. more snow.. more snow. A 5 hour drive took 7 hours. Sherbrooke 4 feet in one day. people stopped at a red light.. car stuck in snow... door doesn't open.. stuck in car! cops on snowmobiles getting people out of their cars! Vermont 5 feet .. state calls a disaster. Spring arrives...flood.. worst in Vermont history.. bridges washed out: State declares a disaster again.

Let it snow.

We've got snow on the ground here.....we got a little more than the flurries they called for yesterday! I'm happy to see it....I was getting quite tired of looking at all the brown....but I'm happy there's not more of it just yet. Especially as the snowblower attachment for our tractor is still missing a part....we'll take all the grace period we can get to finish up chores not quite done yet. ☺
