Winter Storm Warning!

Post by WLLady » Sun Nov 20, 2016 9:05 am

Holy windy!!! My house is shaking!!! I moved broody mom to the basement last night. Just took the whole nesting box down with her inside growling away.
I need to go and block off a couple of spots where the wind can get into the boys coop. Snowing just a bit-i am just on the very west edge of the snow squalls today. Might be a good day to catch up on things inside.
I have no clue what to do with these chicks if anything hatches. Sigh....they can go to the barn in 3 weeks and fend for themselves hopefully. I am not processing boys in this weather. No way. Thinking of which i should switch out the thermostat that needs it on the scalder...
Stay warm everyone!!!

I guess we got it now, never went to 14C yesterday, more like 5C
Bit of a whiteout this morning and some clinking after rain and before snow, must have been ice pellets at some point.
put the winter tarp on the quonset yesterday and DH took the truck in to put winter tires on, feel very accomplished today :)

We went only to 11 yesterday, so oddly enough the farther north a person is, the warmer it is, lol. Wasn't supposed to snow until afternoon but the ground was white here by 8:00a.m. Not that windy here so I hope it stays that way.

No thanks Skinny Rooster, I like my amount just fine!!! LOL DH plows snow so snow to him = $$. Guess if I didn't have chickens to have go out and trudge to the barn during nasty weather I could care less, I really don't like the cold either. Spring, Summer and Fall are my season's
