I got me a 3500 watt generator. ran a small Lincoln mig welder 15-20 seconds at a time. AND I have a full size 50's propane fridge... still works great!!! Im with you WWW.

try to gey a new propane fridge with a pilot instead of an electric igniter. those things are stupid! hahaha they are out there but even more expensive.

So now to add to the hydro chaos CUPE is suing Wynns and her government over the sale of Hydro.
Not sure how that is going to work out, but CUPE has the money. Should be an interesting why storm over the next decade! This will take forever if ever resolved.

oh another thing... the Ontario gvmt is trying to do away with natural gas and propane... remember that ice storm that left us in the dark for days in what the late 90's? if it wernt for our gas stove we didnt have anyway to heat our house. they really only want us to use electricity. pfffft! OK!

The sale of Hydro is going to be used to fund Roads and bridges and other infrastructure.
In 20 -60 years Hydro will still be generating revenue. In 20 years some roads will need resurfacing. In 50 or 60 years salt and old age will erode the bridges. We need to demand that our politicians take the long view.

Ok, well here comes the f bombs!

What the flipping bleep bleep bleep!!!!

Haldimand hydro sold to hydro one. It's officially transferred over and I got my first bill. Rates are ALREADY .18/kWh for peak, never mind this November 1st date.

My bill has gone from $225-$250 to over $400 flipping dollars for one month. Now I'm suppose to find more money every month. This blows my mind. I'm furious and beyond being able to find the right words other than BLEEP!

Wynn cried the blues because she was boo'ed and poked at during her speech yesterday. Good thing I wasn't there, because between the boo's would of been some choice words.

Deliver is $113 W T F
Regulatory charge is $14 (what is this?)

So the savings of 8% is the provinces portion of the HST(GST 7% PST 8%). My bill has jumped 32.5% so tell me again why I should be thrilled about this 8% BS?

I'm so pissed I'm dizzy. Thank goodness I'm off to acupuncture today so I can get some of this stress released! I'm going to blow a bleeping gasket.

BLEEP!

Just a though, but maybe there is enough interest for a thread about ways to limit our dependence on Hydro companies. Tips and tricks to lessen consumption? I for one am very interested in being off grid, but don't know where to start.

One tip is don't live rural. We pay higher rates as of the end of 2017 I believe.
Lous son live in a small city. His hydro hasn't been over $100/month and he is so not conscious of lights off and consumption. It's at its highest in the summer (approx $90-100/month) because he has a pool. Go figure.

I practically eat in the dark and use propane stove and propane oven most of the time. I have a wall oven as well for over flow cooking that is electric but it's seldom used.

I bought a dehydrator. I have soooo many herbs to get dried. One batch of basil will run 6 hors in the dehydrator? This tells me it's cheaper to buy basil at the store. Grrrrrrr
