Good Morning!

Post by Maximus » Sat Jul 09, 2016 8:48 am

Morning,

A lot of thunder and lightening last night. Thought we were going to get anothe downpour. Got some rain but not much. Just dampened everything.

Suppose to do the lavender festival today. Outdoor event. Dark, thunder off in the distance and 10-15mm of raining coming today. There goes my lavender festival.

Going to pick up some legbar chicks next week. 6 girls (maybe a few more now that I think of it, will likely email her) and 2 boys. My silkie just walks around crying all day. Poor girl. She just isn't happy unless she is raising some babies.

Taking 8 cockerels to the auction on Friday and curly toes (barred rock) is out of here as well. She is the last of the real bitchy girls and she is such a bully if I don't take her head off before the auction she should consider herself the winner of a lottery. Even after these 8 go, I will still have 3, possible 4 left to choose from. I won't be selling any more eggs this summer. I'm down too many layers and getting 3-4 eggs a day. Sometimes 5. Josh alone eats 2 minimum a day.

Well. I'm off. Somewhere. Doing something. Not sure what, but I'll figure it out lol.

Cheers!

Finally some rain, not very much, but we will take it.
Planted out some single lettuces out of generally bolted Mechlun, and the ground is still completely dry 3" deep, I guess it will take a while for the soil to actually saturate.
Sounds like Souther Ontario got the main brunt of the storm.

We got real rain too and it looks like more to come! Even the birds didn't go in and just stood outside in it, weird huh?

We got a heavy down pour last night for almost 40 minutes. Wind, lightning and thunder to go with it. Would have preferred a steady rain all night, but with how little we've had the last few months, we'll gladly take it.

Thanks to WLLady for dropping off some birds for me today. Haven't seen them yet as I'm at work for 12 hrs today, but will be tending to them as soon as I get home tonight.
