Re: Good Morning!
Also sorry about the pup, @WLLady but not surprised about the vet message, we got the same one from our Family physician, no wait he/she said "don't come here at all, and don't bother to call.", or something very much to that effect.
Here is grandma's Small bunt cake, since it said small, I decided to use bread form.
Uncultured butter and 6 TBS of cream replaced with 6 TBS of 2% milk, since that was all I had.
Please note it's sliced, everybody is invited for a visual slice

Ugh poor puppy!
Try a farm vet if needed but I hope not.
Believ it or not but PC do a rather good own brand cultured butter which I buy when it's on sale and toss it in the freezer.

Poor pup. We went through that (on a Sunday night when the vets were closed, and we were too far away from any emergency clinic). We were very lucky that our girl survived with nothing to help her! I later learned that Benadryl is the best thing, and I made sure to always have some in the house, and even put some in my pockets for our walks. Two 25 mg tablets for a 50 pound dog.
I hope the pup will soon be back to normal.

Re: Good Morning!
yep 1mg per pound weight for dogs....and its just good old pink tablet benadryl from the pharmacy so nothing special and no script needed. we keep a container of it in the cupboard as our go to. ground wasp stings especially. those bugs should have a special place in hell lol. she is doing way better today. still a bit ouchy...but way better and more confident and actually trying things now. it just started raining here sigh....
we just pulled a large old water trough out of the bank of the river. epic mud all over the atv and dh lol. somehow he managed to bounce it out of the trailer up onto the back of the atv without hitting himself and bouncing it back up in the air while driving so it landed back in the trailer!! haha. i am going to dig it in a bit to the lawn beside the patio for my plants i would usually put in patio pots. the wind out here will dessicate pots too fast. so this will be a big planter. its a metal trough. lol puppy stayed home....resting....while we played in the mud lol

WLLady - That is quite an ordeal you are going through with your dog. It will take time. Puppy steps.
One of my daffodils is up, as in one flower. My crocuses are just about done; and the "Chionodoxa forbesii – Glory-of-the-Snow" are blooming. Kind of disappointing because they came in a collection that is supposed to bloom together with that one trumpet daffodil (but more of them) and some broad-leafed grape hyacinths.
So maybe after the rain and some sunny, warm weather, the rest of my daffodils will come into bloom. I planted a couple of novelty types - Mondragon and Falconet.
OC - That bread looks yummy! I made a couple loaves of paska yesterday. Had to divide my mom's recipe by four.

Re: Good Morning!
Wet morning here, we should be all set for May flowers now.
Dug out some Lovage out of chicken run, where I planted it several years ago.
It would seem that the chickens completely rejected it and showed no interest in it even when it was the only green thing going, so I am taking it back!
I took it out of the garden because it was growing rampant and taking up too much space, planted 1" plant at 9am, by 4pm they were 4"shoots, I may regret this, although it does make lovely soup, so will see.

OC Great idea to grow lovage in the chicken run, even if they don't love it. Funny how they didn't all get the memo about what they are "supposed" to love.....

Re: Good Morning!
I did explain to them that it was very good for them, but in the end it's just a shade plant :)
