Thanks. I snap shot these suggestions to take with me when I go in. I like the sound of Als, where it doesn't exit. That would be a key deciding factor for me.

Y'all are so awesome. I should put you all on conference call when I go. Haha! Prop you up on the counter (in my phone) ha!

Lots to consider, thank you

I did a lot of research before buying that caliber/gun in order to find one that had great reviews and a safe straight shooting round. i watched a lot of ballistic test videos before going with the 223. heres a perfect example of why I chose it. the ammo I have for coyotes is Winchester 223 ballistic silver tipped.

Just remember Sandy a firearm is only a tool for a job . If you pick over or not enough no matter how well it fits it won't do the job also I hope you figure out your pulling to left with your xbow cause a xbow is closest to a firearm & it will probably carry over to your firearm unless it's an equipment malfunction of the xbow but doesn't sound like it if your son can hit target . Luck .

Very true Ross. I have a beautiful A-bolt which is deadly accurate for long range shooting of bigger stuff but I love my little 30.30 brush gun for close quarters. It took down a bear quite nicely! Neither would I use for predator control around the house.

Yep KB best rifle I ever had was a 30/30 lever Winchester I made a leather saddle scabbard for when in Alberta . Shot a lot of food & predators with it but sold when I left the west knowing in SWOnt I wasn't gonna get any use out of it . Luck

KB...I hear ya on that...I'm always amazed that they have all this acreage here with no shortage of voles and squirrels and mice etc., yet the raptors keep circling the chicken pen...beautiful birds..awesome actually...and I cant really blame them for having a look at the buffet we put in front of them for their consideration....lol...

What I did yesterday with the crossbow was corrected to the right more. So --> of my target in order to hit it. Much better. But I also did some left shooting (left eye Dom) and I'm hoping I don't need to --> of my target, but it's still feels awkward, but getting more comfortable. I'm flipping determined! I know my scope is bang on because sniper Josh is bang on. It's definitely me!

There is a local gun shop in Hamilton I'm going to check out on Thursday. I have some time to spare in the city while my truck is in for maintenance.

Have you tried putting a dot or scotch tape on your safety glasses? Just enough to blur one eye if you're shooting both eyes open.
