Good Morning!

Kathy I hope you survived your turkey battles, and sending good thoughts your way for your health concerns.

You mentioned Calico turkeys and peaked my interest, do you have any photos of your calicos?

Awhile back I mentioned we were finishing our basement family room, a big thanks to TomK he came out back in March and did a great job drywalling our ceiling and mudding and taping the interior walls I had built. I am not a big fan of painting so my wife has been priming and painting the ceiling, we are just deciding on wall colours so we can get the painting finished and move on to the floor and pine paneling. To stay out of my wife's way I have been outside cutting and chipping brush and building raised garden beds, a few more beds to go, plus planting.

Hey...so i suit up and guess who is on the roost with 2 stone cold eggs in the corner?? My red palm. So i took the eggs and stood way back and fired them into the composter lol. Yep both brutally rotten stinky out there tonight. The first one was sort of bomb like lol. So i didnt give her any of bronze girls eggs since it doesnt look like she is sitting anymore....

This is one.....i will have to look for the other photo later...its on my phone somewhere. Theyre tricoloured and white but not enough for dilute calico. Red palm x royal palm. Dont breed true-they give red and royals back when cross bred. Like sweetgrass with white in colour.

Man you have been busy!!! Love that raised bed. I need some of those!!!

Glad to see you survived. lol. I love that turkey... I need some calico turkeys.

Ya I like the raised beds, I need to finish up 5 more this week and plant them asap. The process is slow, since I got a load of mixed garden soil last weekend dumped at the front of our house, truck cannot get back to where the gardens are. So I load up the little wagon I have for my lawn tractor (holds about 2 wheel barrels full) and drive it to the back behind our house, the land back there is too uneven to get right up to the garden beds, so I unload the soil into a wheel barrel... push the wheel barrel the last 75 feet dump it and then repeat the whole process over again. Wheel barrel got a flat tire again this afternoon, so I bought a "no-flat" replacement tire today, hopefully it works.

Love the raised bed, on my wish list lol. That's quite the trek for you to make with all that dirt. I'd say you and your wife are both working your bottoms off :). Cheers.

Good morning all you hard working people, basement looks great Jim & Tom :)
love raised beds, here it was a necessity,it was either raised beds or dynamite, but can't imagine gardening any other way anymore.
Cold and windy here, if it doesn't warm up soon both my veggies and the eggs in the incubator will be freeze-dried.
First Candling tonight, I can feel the anxiety level rising already. ;)
Have a safe one!

SO I gave her 7 eggs. I saw that 4 had hatched last night. Went there later this am and she had left her nest so I cleaned it out. SO from 7 eggs 1 was late developing and didn't hatch, 2 died in shell ready to hatch and were steamrollered. Went back just now and sat with her. She called to the babies that it was safe for them to come out. Kinda like popcorn little heads began to appear. She has 10 bouncing babies there LOL! All hers because it's a private coop.
