Snow. Blowing snow. Drifting snow. Ground blizzard. But the snow has stopped for me, heading north and east. Everyone fed and watered and have shelter. Good day to read a book. The Catherine comes home from her mothers. I defrosted the upright freezer while she was gone, hope she approves.

Re: Good Morning
OK folks, please stay home if it's as bad where you are. Our neighbour drives the milk tanker and he is now jackknifed across our raod (narrow and gravel) in the ditch. DH has gone to see if he can help.

Re: Good Morning
After reading the @Bayvistafarm I feel like a lazy person with no life whatsoever, so Thanks for that ? :)
It did look like lots of fun though.
My all out effort this morning was to get the paper from the mailbox, half way down the driveway completely bogged down, I thought I am going to be some...disappointed if there is no paper, but it was there...my accomplishment for the day I think :)

Re: Good Morning
good morning all. I think the tail end and north arm of that system just grazed us here, there are snow devils winding their way across the field....and the wind is sometimes shaking the house but we didn't seem to get enough snow to need plowing. I'm glad I'm home-not because of weather, but another reason, but it is a good thing, because I sure wouldn't want to be out driving around in this! My father passed away this weekend, so i honestly am not sure what i have done, been doing or will be doing...feels sort of like just existing at this point....but we'll get there. sometime.
I know the horse and all the ducks, turkeys and chickens are okay, since i'm out there at least twice a day. Finally a little warmer so the heated buckets are keeping up. The ducks and turkey are laying, silly creatures-the outside doors are closed so they just don't have a clue that now is NOT a good time for kids! Chickens are picking up on the laying too...which just means we need to eat more eggs somehow LOL. Today the one chore is to catch up on some sleep and try to feel human again and maybe this is the perfect time to finish up the farm accounting-then maybe i'll venture out back into "real life" tomorrow.....

Re: Good Morning
Good morning everyone.
@WLLady, I'm sorry to hear of your father's passing; I hope he went gently.
We're getting dumped on with blowing snow (blizzard-like), but I'm glad the temperature is "warmer" than this past Friday and Saturday.
Our chickens made an impressive move. This morning, we found that all of them made it into the barn before the snow started. Most of them are huddled in the hen house - a sectioned off little "room" with roosting rods, 3 laying boxes, and deep shavings.

Re: Good Morning
Sorry about your Dad @WLLady . They got the milk truck out by hauling it out with the tractor. Twp. has had to pull the ploughs off the roads because of poor visibility for the moment.

Re: Good Morning
So Sorry @WLLady to hear about you father.
I admired the milk truck drivers that picked up and dropped off milk to us in all weather and all hours, so we could make cheese. They had some harrowing tales of driving in crazy weather but also the stupidity of drivers doing silly things in front of a truck with thousands of liters of milk in it. One of the regular drivers that delivered to Saputo was killed driving in conditions like these due to another driver not driving with care. Please drive carefully.
