Because Wynne can't do anything about it. And because it's frowned upon if you take arms to government buildings. And because I don't want to go to jail. Ontario Energy Board sets prices, not Wynne, she's just the corporate puppet, and not a very convincing one.

The architect of the "green" energy act is Gerald Butts. We are paying for his agenda in Ontario, and now he is exercising his influence at the federal level. http://ottawacitizen.com/news/politics/ ... ed-adviser

Funny one side note: Japan had huge issues in winter 2014/2015 with LED traffic lights. Blowing snow would stick to them and not melt due to low energy consumption.[/quote]

Soo, Ottawa has started to replace street lights with LED's as needed and new installations, for cost savings and better "ambiance".
Thank goodness it never snows in Ottawa. ;)

Screw "earth hour", I say we have "earth month". And refuse to pay the delivery charge. That's my best idea for a peaceful protest. A 3000 watt generator only costs 10$ to run for 6 hours, actually, less now that gas isn't 1.15 anymore. Seriously considering going back to generator and batteries. Anyone with a propane fridge, even an ancient camper fridge--hang onto that sucker because they're worth a small fortune now, and I expect the prices to go way up as more and more people cannot afford their power bill.
